Characteristics | Factions - Arvernii TW: Rome II - Caesar in Gaul Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
The Arvernii are one of the two Celtic tribes playable in Rome II: Caesar in Gaul. Initially, they have only one region in south-west Gaul, which puts them in not a very good position. Fortunately, the fact that they have a lot of potential allies in the region, as well as conflicted neighbours, create a possibility to develop freely.
Because of a relative vicinity of provinces laying on the edges of the campaign map, such as Pictavis, Aquitania, and Narbonensis, it is possible to create there an outpost for farther expansion to the north and east. Sadly, the proximity of a Roman colony Narbo Martius soon leads to fighting against a much stronger opponent.
Starting bonuses
- Gaelic Warriors: +10% melee attack in own or allied territories
- Gaelic Hegemony: an average diplomacy bonus with Gaelic tribes (same culture)
- Noble Rivalry: reduced public order for the presence of Gaelic culture (max -4)
Bonuses for the Arvernii are an excellent help in early game. Gaelic Warriors attribute helps to kill off marauders and defend your land in a couple of initial turns, whereas Gaelic Hegemony enables you to easily make some essential alliances. Unfortunately, Noble Rivalry may force you to make a frequent use of druids and temples, to keep public order.
