First steps: get back your equipment and explore the Mysterious Forest

You wake up in Marin's house. She will tell you that you should go to the beach. Talk with Tarin who is standing near a table and he will give you your shield back. Exit their house and follow a path to the west. You should pass a house with a bomb on a chain. Turn south and pass two boys playing in front of a house.

Keep going down until you reach the beach. Watch out for monsters. Block them with the shield by pressing the R button. Go east by following the shoreline and pick your Sword from the ocean. Use B to attack. An owl will appear - it tells you that you should find a key in the Mysterious Forest. Go back to Mabe Village.

Go up on the hill above the well, use your sword to remove the grass and jump down into the well. Pick up a Piece of Heart and exit the well. Go north and enter the Mysterious Forest. Go up, turn left and keep walking until you find a hollow tree trunk. It's an entrance to the cave.

Enter the cave, destroy purple crystals using the sword and move the stone to open the chest with 50 rupees. Go up and then turn left. Move the stones to be able to get out of the cave. On the left, you will find a Sleepy Toadstool. Pick it up and come back to the cave.

Shift the rocks, go to the next room and exit the cave.

Go north and when you find three stones standing in front of the entrance to another cave turn east and follow the path until you leave the forest. Continue along the same path until you reach the Witch's Hut. Come inside and talk to the Witch. She will give you a Magic Powder, which you can use to put enemies to sleep. Press the Plus button on your joy-con and assign powder to the Y or X button.

Go back to the forest. Turn south at the three stones in front of the cave, then turn left and go up. There should be a raccoon standing next to a tree. Sprinkle him with magic powder. Go up and take the key to the Tail Cave from the chest.

Finding a way to the Tail Cave

Go south and come back to Mabe Town. Go up behind the house with a bomb on a chain. You'll be able to fish there - you can earn some rupees by selling them. Go down, pass Marin's house and go right. There will be a grass field. Cut the grass to find a Secret Seashell under it.

Go down to the Trendy Game. Pay 10 rupees to the owner to play and stand in front of the purple buttons. Press down and up button on your joy-con to win a Yoshi Doll. You can play again and get a Piece of Heart.

Exit the building and go north until you reach a green house with two doors. Go inside and speak to the woman. Exchange the Yoshi Doll for a Bow. Speak to the man as well. He will tell you to find him later in the game. Go to the bomb on a chain and enter its dog house. Talk to the bomb inside and trade the Bow for Dog Food.

Leave the city and go south. Go towards the beach but don't get on the sand. Keep going east - you should find a house between banana trees. Go inside and trade the Dog Food for Bananas with the Crocodile.

Leave the house, go left, then up and turn right. Keep moving until you reach trees. Follow up towards the wall of trees, turn right and go southeast. Insert the key into the statue in the middle and enter the Tail Cave.

Exploring the Tail Cave

Go left and kill all the monsters. A Key should land on the grey field. Go through the door on the left and take a Compass from the chest. Kill all monsters so that the door opens again and go back to the first room of the Tail Cave. Go up, kill all monsters and step on the button on the floor to drop the chest which contains a Small Key. Go right and kill all monsters. A chest with a Map of the Tail Cave will fall.

Go up through the revolving door and use a Small Key to open the door on the right. Go up. There will be three monsters with signs on their bellies. Those signs are regularly changing. Every time you hit the monster (with a sword or simply by poking it with the shield), it will freeze and the symbol on its belly will change. You need to make sure that the symbol on every monster is the same. Monsters will disappear and a chest with a Stone Beak will show up. Approach the Statue of Owl and put the Stone Beak in it to receive a clue.

Go back down and go left. Go left along the wall of stones, watch out for the trap and open a chest with a Small Key. Go left, kill the monster and take 20 rupees from a chest. Go up, watch out for the trap and open the door above. Turn right. Beware of the traps - learn their patterns and steer clear of them. Go along the stone path to enter the room on the left. The owl will tell you to move the rock in front of her to the right. The door on the left will open.

Kill all monsters to reveal stairs to the lower level of the cave. Beneath the secret staircase will be a room filled with ladders and Goombas. Go left and take the final ladder to another room. Keep going up - watch out for traps. Take the Roc's Feather from the chest. Assign the feather to the Y or X button and go back the way you came. You can now jump over the hole in the floor using the Roc's Feather instead of going through the traps.

Go down and turn right. Go to the room above. Jump left and use the Small Key on the rock in front of the stairs. Go up, turn left and take the Nightmare's Key from the chest.

Go back down and circle the wall to go through the door on the left. Jump over the hole in the floor and enter through the door on the left. A Mini-Boss Fight awaits you there. Jump over the log when Rolling Bones pushes it toward you and attack him with the sword. Enter the room above and watch out for traps. Go up to deal with another Boss - Moldorm. Defeat the boss by attacking his tail. Take a Piece of Heart and go up to the room with the Full Moon Cello.
