The iron melee weapons

The world of Starbound is a dangerous place and, to survive in it, you are going to need some sort of a weapon. Fortunately, they are plentiful in the game and you receive the first one right at the beginning of the game. The better ones can be crafted off various metals, found in chests or received in the form of a reward, for defeating enemies.

Each race has 6 categories of weapons, which it can craft with the appropriate materials. The level of these weapons depends on the iron that they were crafted in. All of the remaining weapons, apart for the small number of rare weapons, are generated by the game and have various statistics, and features.

In the game, there are melee weapons and ranged weapons. Melee weapons are the most common type, they deal a lot of damage and are easy to craft but, during fight, it is exposed to the opponents attacks. The second kind are ranged weapons, they are safer to handle, but they require energy during the battle and they cannot be crafted.
