Reputation and finance in Project Hospital Project Hospital Guide, Tips
Last update: 16 November 2018
This chapter is dedicated to reputation and finances in Project Hospital. Here you will find out how to check the profits from individual wards, what gives you reputation and what benefits you get from contracts with insurers. With our guide to Project Hospital you'll learn how to manage your hospital's finances.
Reputation
Reputation has a direct impact on the number of patients who are sent to your hospital from the insurer and on the amount of payment for treatment. It's worth to take care of it, offering high-quality services in your hospital - put distributors, bathrooms and vending machines, try to cure the symptoms of diseases, have some more staff for day and night shifts to speed up the entire treatment process. If possible, also employ qualified staff (with the highest percentage of proficiency in their specialization), thanks to which, the doctors will be less likely to misdiagnose diseases and be more effective in general.
Prestige is also the average satisfaction of your staff and patients and the overall treatment effectiveness. The picture below shows the prestige per ward. You may notice modifiers that make up the overall prestige (e.g. satisfaction of patients and staff, percentage of patients cured, no deaths).
Finances
There are two options to viewing your hospital's finances. The first one is shown in the picture above (you can turn on the window by clicking the icon of three connected dots in the bottom left corner of the screen) - on this screen, in addition to the reported profit from wards, you can also see the occupancy of individual wards, how many patients were cured on that day, how big is the staff, the number of hospitalized patients and the number of available beds. This is a very useful tool for getting to know the situation in the wards.
The second option is shown in the picture above - the window shows detailed hospital finances (you can open this window by clicking on the dollar icon in the lower left corner of the screen). Here you can also take a loan and pay it back. In this window you can see exactly which ward derives the greatest profits from hospitalization or clinic - pay attention to the cost of the radiology and intensive care ward - although they are helpful and significantly support the diagnosis and treatment of patients, they will always generate losses.
Statistics
On the statistics screen, you'll see visualization of data on general earnings and treated patients, which helps you get to know the situation. Two pie charts show the number of staff in your facility (chart on the left) and the number of patients hospitalized and admitted to the clinic (chart on the right). Under the charts, you can see how many patients you have treated, how many you didn't treat, whether the diagnosis was wrong and whether the patients died (below the chart on the left - data collected from the first day of hospital operation up to now, under the chart on the right - data collected only from the previous day).
Two line charts show your daily income, the number of patients treated and the total number of patients.
This screen is useful because you can quickly draw conclusions based on this data - how many staff are employed compared to the number of patients being admitted and how it affects the income and the number of properly treated patients.
Insurance companies
You can turn on the insurance company screen by clicking on the umbrella icon in the lower left corner of the screen. You don't have to get along with every insurer, additionally, the insurer will be willing to send patients to your hospital only when you have built the right ward. Following this line of thought, you can build any ward you want (you don't have to build everything) and limit yourself to only some insurance companies. To conclude a contract with an insurance company (condition: you must have an appropriate ward), click on the plus icon next to the insurer that interests you. From the picture above, you can see which organization offers better coverage of treatment costs - remember that the prestige of your hospital has an impact on the amount of compensation for the treatment. On the left, next to the insurance company logo, you can see how many patients are sent to you by the company and how many emergencies or serious cases they may have (ambulance icon).
On this screen, you can also see additional tasks given by the organizations, for completing them you will receive additional rewards in the form of a grant (from 20,000 to 50,000), better interns or a new ambulance.
