General information
Briefly:
- Available right next to home;
- Uses two stroke fuel;
- The fastest vehicle that will take you to the city and the store.
The boat with the engine is the only mode of transport My Summer Car that has no original name and is displayed simply as a BOAT, although the engine has Tarja written on it (fans of Gothic metal will probably know this name). The boat is available immediately at the beginning of the game. You will find it moored to the pier on the shore of the lake near your home.
The boat is the only means of transportation in My Summer Car that will get you to the island on the lake. It is also the fastest vehicle, at least at the beginning, for reaching the city and the shop - relevant information can be found in Shopping and Home on the island chapters. The boat filled with objects tends to drift to the right or left. In such cases, you should always stay on the course. You should also always throw into it a canister with spare fuel - do that every time you purchase something at the shop. Thanks to this, you won't get stuck in the middle of the lake. The boat uses two stroke fuel which you can find in the store.
How to start the boat?
Enter the boat and crouch near the engine - wait until you see ENTER DRIVING MODE text. Press ENTER. To start the engine, press the STARTER handle and sharply pull the mouse to pull the line. The engine should start either immediately or after a few pulls. The ENGINE SHUT OFF button is next to it. Press it to shut the engine off after docking. The gear switch is next:
- N - neutral
- 1 - forward
- R - back
Select the correct gear ratio according to the desired direction. The boat controls like any vehicle - you use the WASD buttons. However, you can break by releasing the forward button. When mooring remember that the boat has a fairly large turning radius, the slower you drive, the bigger the turning radius.
How to refill the boat's fuel tank?
The boat uses two stroke fuel, which can be purchased in canisters in the shop in the town. To refill the tank, unscrew the tank cover with the mouse wheel. Then, grab the canister from below, rotate the mouse wheel to rotate the canister and place it above the tank until a white progress bar appears at the bottom. The capacity of the tank is 4 liters, so, when you want to refill the entire tank with a 5-liters canister, you will still have 1 liter left. The boat, unfortunately, does not have a fuel level indicator, but one tank should be enough for two trips back and forth to the store.
You should always take a spare fuel canister with you after the first trip to the shop!
What should I do when the boat gets stuck too close to the shore?
Mooring at the pier is not necessary. You simply need to stop somewhere next to the shore. Sometimes, however, the boat can get on the land - it won't move, regardless of which gear you are using. You can push the boat into deeper water.
Go to the push mode by pressing the J button - you will see two hands stretched out in front of you. Go to the boat, crouch (C) and push the boat until it gets unstuck.
