Metal Gear Ray | Bosses MGR: Revengeance Guide

Round 1
The first boss in the game is not too much of a challenge but, you need to watch out anyways, for some of its attacks (especially if you are playing at the Hard difficult level, or a higher level).
Metal Gear Ray has several attacks which it will use alternatively, depending on your position, during the fight:
- Attack with the plasma cannon in its snout - for several seconds, it will charge the cannon to fire a beam of energy towards you. To avoid this attack, run to the side and never charge ahead, towards the enemy. Additionally, the boss will reinforce its attack with a discharge from its machine guns, mounted onto its back - you can reflect these using the Ninja Run.
- Shells that are driven into the ground and explode after several seconds - if you are moving for the whole time, you may not even notice them.
- Stomp - on the ground, there will appear a red marker, which is where Ray will stomp after a moment, which will inflict heavy damage to you. Once you notice the red marker, run away from there (e.g. towards the boss' another leg) and you should be fine.
Fighting Metal Gear Ray boils down to attacking its legs - once you have dealt sufficient damage, there will appear an instruction, on the screen, to use the Blade Mode, to slash both the armor and the cannon of the enemy into bits. If you repeat that action for 4 times, the boss will attack you with its blade and another QTE sequence will start. Follow the instructions and press the buttons that appear on the screen, and soon the boss will fall to the ground.
Round 2
Yes, it seems that Metal Gear Ray is still kicking and it is time for the second round. This phase is much more difficult, because your options to maneuver are limited and it is more difficult to dodge its attacks. Ray may use one of the following attacks:
- Plasma cannon, the same that the boss has been using earlier. The difference is that, instead of attacking in a straight line, it will be launching its attacks from right to left (and back). You can easily avoid the beam by jumping over it, when the moment is right.
- Vertical or horizontal paw attack. The boss will stop for a moment, as it is preparing an attack. Use this moment to get away from it and avoid the attack.
- Attack with rockets in its paw - Ray will place its paw on the left side of the arena to launch tens of rockets towards you. Use Blade Mode and cut the rockets into pieces.
- Attack with projectiles driven into the ground, which explode after a while. The boss will notify you of this attack by increasing the distance. To avoid taking damage, run around the arena and stop in a spot, where there are no projectiles.
Attack Ray's snout to initiate a QTE sequence after a while and cut up the enemy's armor. Repeat the entire sequence several times, and the boss will jump back, when it is your task to chase it with Ninja Run - simply, run in its direction while holding the button and follow the instructions displayed on the screen. After a while, the action will change to the side of a building, over which you need to run down, while avoiding rockets (run to the sides) and the plasma cannon (jump over it) - this will start the final QTE sequence and the boss will fall to the ground, this time for good.
