A handful of hints to start with, which will definitely come in handy throughout the game:

• Learn to parry attacks as soon as possible (more about this in the chapter devoted to basic gameplay mechanics) - you will not make it far without knowing this, especially at the higher difficulty levels. Parrying, apart from avoiding taking damage, will often let you initiate a deadly counter-attack, which will often eliminate the enemy within several seconds.
• As often as possible, sneak and eliminate enemies silently, instead of starting a brawl and summoning enemies from half the map. This is a key element, especially while fighting cyborgs that use RPGs, and mastiff dogs. Additionally, some of the collectibles (e.g. Gekko Mimic)or achievements, require you to reach a given place without raising the alarm.
• If you cannot handle a given stage, or you are short of cash (BP) to improve on Raiden's equipment, you can play a stage that you have complete the d previously, to earn some credits. Remember - you do not need to complete the a given stage to keep the BP level or the collectibles, it is enough that you save the game (through Codec and contacting Courtney).
• When you reach a stage with a boss (or a checkpoint), and your life meter is low, you can always lad the last checkpoint. You will not lose time, and your health will be fully restored!
• Always check on the availability of upgrades, both for your blade, health, energy level and additional abilities. Just like earlier (of course within the constraints of common sense) unlock the ability to dodge (Defensive Offense) - this will come in handy often. Remember - altering the looks of Raiden will not influence his statistics.
• Learn combos (to learn them, pause the game and access the Help tab) - some of the combos work better against certain types of opponents. Clicking the enemy to death so ceases to be effective.
• Look around - on the map there are a lot of chests overflowing with useful items (like the EM grenades or the repair nanopaste). Also, pay attention to the items dropped by the dead enemies.
