Chapter 8 - The Wild Ones - p. 1 Mafia II Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
DRESSING UP AND MEETING WITH JOE:
Start off by picking up a Playboy magazine from the kitchen table #1. Interact with the closet to put some clothes on, exit the building and talk to Joe #2. He'll inform you that your job will be to distribute illegal cigarette boxes.
SELLING CIGARETTE BOXES IN RIVERSIDE:
Once you've listened to the description of this mission you can enter the truck Joe used to get here (Shubert Truck) #1. Drive to Riverside district located in the north-western part of Empire Bay. Remember that your truck has poor brakes, so you'll always have to brake early, even if you're not using the realistic driving model. You should also watch out in tight alleys #2, because it'll be easy to crash into parked cars if you're not careful enough.
The selling spot is located behind the buildings, so you'll have to choose a path leading there #1. Park your truck and watch a short cut-scene. Your job will be to pick up boxes customers want to buy, so that Vito will hand them over to Joe. Start off by taking a box of Reds #2. Two other boxes you'll need to pick up are Blues and Whites. Wait until Joe decides to shut down business here, telling you that you'll go to an another district.
SELLING CIGARETTE BOXES IN MILLVILLE:
Wait until you can control Vito again and take a seat behind the wheel of the truck. Return to the asphalt road #1 and start moving towards the Millville district which is located to the south-east. It's going to be a long trip, so you should be careful, especially while driving on a freeway #2. Avoid crashing into other cars and don't miss the exit from the freeway, because it's not easy to spot.
Your destination will be a large open area located near the factory #1. Park the truck and resume selling cigarette boxes. This time you'll have to give Joe two boxes - a box of Blues #2 and a box of Reds. A group of thugs will soon show up, wanting you to pay for selling on their turf. This will all be shown in a cut-scene.
CHASING THE OTHER CAR:
You'll start this chase inside an upgraded Potomac Indian which belonged to one of the killed thugs. Drive in a straight line, chasing a hot rod seen in the distance #1. You'll soon reach a road leading to the freeway #2 and you'll have to be careful here if you don't want to end up in a slide.
You'll also have to be careful on the freeway to avoid losing control over your car while taking turns #1. Don't worry if you see the hot rod moving away from you near the tunnel #2, because this is how it's supposed to play out. Listen to what Joe has to say - he'll decide that it would be a good idea to contact Eddie.
FINDING A PHONE BOOTH TO CONTACT EDDIE:
The nearest phone booth is located in the Riverside district and you can find it to the west of the scrapyard you've visited in previous chapters of the game. Drive through the tunnel and turn right the first chance you get #1 and then head straight for a short while. Check the map seen above #2 if you're still having difficulties finding the booth.
Park your car near the booth #1. If the phone booth is not used by anyone you will be allowed to make the call to Eddie right away. If there's a civilian inside the booth you can wait or you can pull this person away from the phone #2. You should know that doing this may initiate a fight and you may also find yourself being chased by the cops. Eddie will not be pleased with your progress and he'll tell you to meet with Steve who can be found near a place called Crazy Horse.
DRIVING TO CRAZY HORSE:
The place mentioned during the conversation by Eddie can be found in the eastern part of the city. Enter the car you've used to get here and get back on the freeway #1. Don't forget to follow your radar, so you'll exit the freeway when needed. In order to get to Steve you'll have to make a turn to a gravel road near your destination #2.
