Chapter 5 - The Buzzsaw - p. 1 Mafia II Guide

DRESSING UP AND LEAVING THE APARTMENT:

This chapter will have almost an identical beginning to the previous one, so you must put on some clothes #1 and then use the passageway leading to the garage area #2.

HELPING THE WOMAN FROM THE ACCIDENT:

Leaving the building will trigger a cut-scene during which you'll notice that one of Joe's friends was involved in a car accident. Get over there as soon as possible #1 and Vito will automatically attack the man who was shouting at her. You'll have to defeat this fellow in melee combat #2. He won't be an easy opponent, so you'll have to patient and wait for opportunities to perform successful counterattacks. The woman will reward you with 50 dollars for helping her out.

MEETING WITH JOE AT THE BAR:

This is a very simple objective. You can use the car owned by the man you've just defeated #1, especially since you won't need better vehicles in the near future. Drive to the bar #2, exit the vehicle and enter Freddy's. A new cut-scene will be displayed when you're close enough to the stairs.

COLLECTING HARDWARE FROM HARRY:

You'll meet Luca Gurino in the bar and you'll also find out that in order to prepare for your next mission you're going to need an MG42. Such weapon is in Harry's possession and therefore you'll have to drive to his store to get it. Exit the bar, enter a vehicle (doesn't matter if it's fast or slow) and head over to Harry's place located in the north-western part of the city. You'll have to choose an alleyway under a large 'Army Navy' sign #1. Park the car (not in front of the wagon) and use the doorbell #2. Wait until Harry lets you in.

Proceed to the main room of the store #1 and talk to Harry. You'll receive a crate with the weapon once the long conversation has ended. Notice that you can also purchase some items from Harry, including a Magnum and a shotgun. It's not such a bad idea, because you'll need good guns soon enough. Exit the building with the crate and load it into a wagon parked in front of the store (Shubert 38 - Wagon) #2. You'll now have to enter this new vehicle, leaving your current car near Harry's place.

DRIVING TO A MEETING SPOT WITH JOE AND HARRY:

You'll have to do what the game has told you and that is to drive safely in order to avoid crashing into other cars or objects from the environment. Make sure not to raise any suspicion, because you don't want to initiate a police chase. The game will probably send you through the western road leading south #1 and despite what you might think you can't drive faster there. It shouldn't take long for you to reach the dead end road where the next part of this chapter will take place #2. Park the car and watch a new cut-scene.

ATTACKING FAT MAN'S BODYGUARDS:

Start shooting at the gangsters as soon as you've regained control over Vito. They will be hiding behind two cars parked on the street #1 #2. Ignore their leader, The Fat Man, for the time being. Don't worry, because you'll catch up to him later in the mission. Keep firing until it's safe and then leave the machine gun post.

GOING AFTER THE FAT MAN:

The first part of the chase will require you to gain access to the winery building where the Fat Man is hiding. Exit this room and check the upper floor after reaching the staircase. Find a Playboy magazine on the top floor #1 and then start heading towards the ground floor #2 where your colleagues should be waiting for you.

Quickly take cover near the exit from the building #1 and try eliminating other gangsters from here. Just as before, remain where you are until they're all end. Exit the building and proceed to your right, because that's where you'll find the entrance to the winery #2. Kick open the door by pressing the Q key.
