Chapter 6 - Time Well Spent - p. 1 Mafia II Guide

INTRODUCTION:

The introductionary part of this mission will be quite long and it will have two interactive moments - you'll be allowed to look around while walking from the bus to the cell block #1 and during your visit in the barber's office #2.

FOLLOWING ORDERS:

This is a very linear assignment, because all nearby corridors will be blocked by the guards. You can try approaching them, but they'll push you away. Head forward and then turn left #1. Use the stairs and it won't take long until you've reached your cell. Enter it and wait for the gate to close behind you. Interact with the bunk when you're ready for the next part of the chapter #2.

CONTACTING LEO GALANTE:

Your next objective will be to contact Leo, because apparently he can offer Vito protection during his sentence. Naturally you can look around a bit and listen to other convicts having interesting conversations. There are two Playboy magazines in the courtyard - behind the benches (next to a sleeping prisoner) #1 and between a hut and a fence #2.

You could ask around where to find Leo, however it won't be mandatory. If you insist on talking to other inmates you'll have to ask at least a few of them before someone gives you the information you need #1. Proceed to the other end of the courtyard #2 where a cut-scene featuring O'Neill will be triggered. He'll want to settle the score for outsmarting him during the shopping mall heist mission from one of previous chapters.

FIGHTING O'NEILL:

This fight #1 #2 will be similar to previously completed duels, so you'll have to move around a lot and rely mostly on fast attacks. Don't worry, because you'll move on with the storyline even if O'Neill manages to defeat you. Either way, you'll end up in the detention room and two days later Leo Galante will take you under his wings.

VISITING THE GYM:

You'll soon end up in a gym and Leo will offer to teach you how to perform effective counterattacks. Start off by sparring with Pepe. Try hitting him and observe his reaction. You'll have to avoid his attacks now by holding the SPACE key and moving around the ring #1. The next step is to attack your opponent as soon as his attack was dodged thanks to holding the SPACE key. Try how this works and remember that you must attack him by pressing the left mouse button #2 almost immediately after his unsuccessful attack.

The fight will be paused for a short while after your first successful counterattack and then you'll resume sparring with Pepe. You'll now have to perform three counterattacks #1 #2, so remember about holding the SPACE key and pressing the left mouse button after his attacks. Notice that Pepe can block your attacks the same way. You must be ready to press the SPACE key again to avoid taking a hit from him.

You'll have a chance to talk to Leo again after defeating Pepe and he'll suggest to meet other inmates #1. You can try being friendly towards them by trying to talk to them until they're unresponsive. The most important person here is Al #2, because he'll offer you a free sparring session. Sadly he's a weak opponent, so you won't learn a lot from him.

You'll be stopped by one of the Asian inmates while trying to exit the gym #1. He'll want a payback for the bet he's lost and Leo will suggest that you fight him. Make sure to listen to Leo's advice about using fast attacks in the beginning of this fight #2.

You shouldn't be surprised that this duel will be more difficult than recent fights with Pepe and Al. Make sure to start using counterattacks #1, however quick punches without too much thinking may also prove to be effective. You'll have to end this fight by finishing your opponent and this means pressing the left mouse button twice or three times #2. The next part of this chapter will take place a week later.
