A remake of a third generation arcade game developed by City Connection. We are taken to a special table, manned by two animals with unique stats and abilities. A basic match sees us throw and deflect white balls – to win, one of the players has to place all of his balls on the opponent’s side or hit the opponent enough times to drain their health bar. The matches are diversified by various modifiers, such as bombs or obstacles that appear on the play field.

The graphics are three-dimensional, but the mechanics are two-dimensional. The gameplay is based on the principles of a puzzle invented by the Japanese artist Non Ishida. This puzzle is known as “paint by numbers”. Similarly to the previous game, in Picross S the player is tasked with painting the fields of a diagram in such way that they create a pixel drawing.

The game is a 2.5D fighting game – it means that gameplay mechanics are fully two-dimensional despite the fact that locations are made in 3D. Tag system is the heart of the game. The player chooses two characters before the battle. They can control only one of them simultaneously but can also switch between them during the fight.

Compilation of independent games that is a tribute to the times of 8-bit consoles. UFO 50 is a pack of fifty items - from classic platformers, through shoot 'em ups to RPG titles. Each project is a full-fledged production, combining inspirations from the past with new ideas and a contemporary way of designing. Although the individual games are slightly smaller than the commercial hits released in the 1980s, they still offer over 100 hours of fun.
