NHL 18 is another installment in the sports game series developed by EA Sports – a division of Electronic Arts. The gameplay revolves around the same mechanics as the previous installments, trying to faithfully represent ice hockey games; however, the developers implemented some major changes. One of them is the Defensive Skill Stick system, ensuring better control over a player and the hockey stick during defensive maneuvers.

Each project is a full-fledged production, combining inspirations from the past with new ideas and a contemporary way of designing. Although the individual games are slightly smaller than the commercial hits released in the 1980s, they still offer over 100 hours of fun.

The game was developed for Nintendo Switch and – similarly to previous entries in the series – it enables the player to assume the role of the titular character, who travels through vast and varied levels. During the game they must jump between platforms, avoid traps and dangers and fight encountered enemies, among which there are large, powerful bosses.

This time he is taken to a miniature world filled with challenges requiring both skill and logic, and offering many gold coins to collect. Yoshi is a classic platformer with side view, with our hero running, jumping and throwing eggs at enemies or environmental objects.
