Mechanics
The game features only a multiplayer mode. Laser League is set in 2150 and allows you to participate in the most popular games of the future. The matches involve two teams of four people each and are played on small, enclosed arenas. Those arenas feature turrets, which shoot out deadly laser rays. You can switch the hues of the rays, as they can only hurt people, who wear outfits in different colors than that of the ray.
There are sixty playable characters and six character with unique offensive and defensive abilities classes to choose from. The game also features a leveling-up system, allowing you to unlock over 260 upgrades.
The games can be played on three international arenas and ten smaller maps. The multiplayer matches can be played both online and on a shared screen.
Technical aspects
Other Roll7 games features pixelated 2D visuals, but Laser League offers a different style. The production features fully 3D visuals, inspired by the Tron franchise. All arenas are illuminated by neon lamps and the characters' outfits also have their own lighting.
