Wulverblade Description
Wulverblade for PC, XONE and etc. is a side-scrolling platformer game based on the classic formulas and featuring a peculiar, cartoonish graphic style. An independent developer known as Fully Ilustrated created the game.
Plot
Wulverblade is set in 120 AD, when the forces of the Roman Empire invade southern Britain. The player takes on the role of Caradok – a skilled, versatile warrior who decides to murder the invaders all by himself and send them a message that trying to take over these lands is a not a good idea.
Mechanics
The game offers an experience that is typical for this genre in terms of the formula behind it. Thus the player fights dozens of enemies, trying to eliminate them in different ways, and moving towards the right side of the screen throughout the entire game. Exterminating the Romans is realized by means of a sword and a shield (two main weapons), but the player can also use their fists or head (literally) against the enemies. The player traverses eight different levels here and those are set in separate sceneries. As a result, one will go through an ancient forest, fight among mountain streams, or enter Roman forts.
Technical aspects
Wulverblade for PC, XONE and etc. offers a cartoonish graphic style that brings Shank (Klei Entertainment) into mind. The protagonist's actions are represented by a large set of different animations. The game's visuals are caricatural, exaggerated, but also filled with brutality.
