The game takes place in New York that was overrun by monsters from the dark dimension. We play as a ranger equipped with a powerful chainsaw who tries to find and destroy a hidden portal in order to stop the invasion. As we start the game, we create our own character and choose the necessary equipment.

After a couple of sequels to the earlier installments in the series (e.g. Medieval, Shogun, and Rome), the developers took on a new great historical figure. The game is set in the late 4th and the early 5th century CE. The Roman Empire is on the brink of collapse, at war with numerous barbaric tribes of the Huns and the Visigoths.

Akihiko Yoshida, art director of such hits as Final Fantasy Tactics or Bravely Default, was involved in its development. Battle Champs bears a resemblance to the famous Clash of Clans — the player’s task is to gather resources, build a settlement, and then defend it from other participants’ attacks. Apart from regular combat units, giants play an important role in Battle Champs.

The game was produced by Focus Home Interactive, which purchased the brand license after the original publisher, Monte Cristo, went bankrupt. The basic mechanics remain unchanged: you play as the mayor of a virtual city and your task is to manage its development and to make sure everything is functioning as it should.

The game’s story focuses on battling all sorts of monsters that are trying to invade the real world. The last obstacle on their way is you and your fortress. Consistently with the rules of the genre, gameplay is primarily about building various guard towers that work in many different ways.

Among them, we can find Geralt of Rivia, Iorweth, Zoltan Chivay, and Philippa Eilhart. Each character possesses a different set of skills and uses unique special items.

The game is set in the harbor town of Kingsport, where a mysterious ritual, which summons cosmic horrors, takes place once in every hundred years. You play as the cult leaders overseeing the ritual. Their task is to collect spells and artifacts that will allow them to conquer the port and defeat their enemies.
