Developed by the Japanese DeNa studio, Transformers: Battle Tactics is a battle game based on the license of the popular Transformers franchise. In the game, the player has to create his own team of robots and engage in turn-based battles. The players get a wide range of Transformers at their disposal, featuring nearly 100 Autobots and Decepticons led by the iconic heroes such as Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream, and Bumblebee.

Developed by the Japanese DeNa studio, Transformers: Battle Tactics is a battle game based on the license of the popular Transformers franchise owned by Hasbro. The developers of this game are also known for creating other games, such as Transformers Legends, Transformers: Age of Extinction, and Star Wars: Galactic Defense.
Mechanics
The gameplay focuses on team turn-based battles between the titular robots. Particular teams can comprise up to for machines selected from a wide range of over 75 available Autobots and Decepticons led by the iconic heroes such as Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream, and Bumblebee. Robots exhibit unique abilities and statistics, thus one should create his team so that the robots complement one another. The game puts a strong emphasis on the tactical aspect, allowing a player to transform his robots into various vehicles, which adds them more abilities.
The AND and iOS release of Transformers: Battle Tactics offers an elaborate story campaign; however, at its core, the game is all about real-time online PvP battles in which players can fight opponents from all around the world. Both experiences are connected in terms of their content and mechanics. Players also have access to the online statistics allowing them to compare their scores with other players.
Technical aspects
In terms of its plot and visuals, the game is tightly connected to a comic book series entitled Transformers: Generations – Combiner Wars, published in 2015. This is visible especially in the game’s visuals, distant from serious movie adaptations directed by Michael Bay. The game is based on a free-to-play business model with optional microtransactions.
