On this page of the guide to FIFA 22 you'll learn how to correctly create offensive plays.
It's not always easy to take control of the ball in FIFA 22, so when you do, it's a good idea to start preparing an offensive play which should end with a shot taken at the goal, preferably letting you score. Attacking the enemy goal can be divided into several stages.
- Fighting for the high ball in the middle of the field
- One-touch football
- Positional attack
- Counter attack
Fighting for the high ball in the middle of the field
In FIFA 22, it's extremely important to control the midfield, as it's an important strategic area on any playing field. Therefore, you should always fight for the ball when the goalkeeper kicks it away and try to have one of your players take control of it, allowing you to perform a quick counterattack.
One-touch football
One-touch football is an effective way of breaking down the opponent's defense. It involves making quick and short passes in a small area between two or three players. Playing one-touch football forces the opponents to involve more players in intercepting the ball, giving your players a chance to break away from enemy players and receive a through pass.
Positional attack
Preparing a positional attack in FIFA 22 requires a lot of patience, accuracy and many short passes in a small area. When constructing your plays use all available means, connect one-touch football with through balls aimed towards the strikers running behind enemy defenders, involve side midfielders and wingers. This kind of play creates an incredible pace and doesn't allow the opponent to organize a good defense in time.
Counter attack
During the match in FIFA 22 you could have many opportunities for devastating counterattacks, for example if the opponent makes an inaccurate pass, loses the ball or messes up a technical trick. Most counter-attacks are performed on the sides of the field which contain very fast players, but you can also attack in the middle of the field if there's enough space for a through ball (on the ground or in the air).
