Pass planning and maintaining correct speed
Plan your passes in advance and execute them at a certain speed so that they reach the receiving player without slowing down the speed of the game. When a pass is missed and the ball omits a player, you'll have to go back to retrieve the ball. You may lose pace doing so and the opponent gains time to react and organize additional defense. What's more, the quick exchange of passes opens a way through the ranks of your opponent's defense.
Short ground pass
Short ground passes are the most commonly used actions with ball play. Accurate passing is the key to success in FIFA 19. Short passes should be directed to players who are relatively close to you, so that the opponent is not able to take over the ball. To make a short pass on the ground, press the button responsible for the short pass and indicate the direction in which the action should be carried out. Remember to make passes with the necessary strength and precision, because too strong kick may cause problems with retrieval of the ball, and in the worst case - the loss of the soccer ball.
First touch play
Playing from the first touch is nothing more than making quick short passes between players practically from the first contact with the ball. Remember to use a small amount of force and aim correctly at the addressed player when making such passes. First touch can be used in a very small space.
Long ground pass
Long passes on the ground are usually used to transfer the weight of the game to the other side of the pitch. Before making such pass you must be sure that it will reach its target because the long distance between players causes a high risk of ball being intercepted by the opponent. To make a long pass on the ground, press the button responsible for the short pass, hold it a little longer and choose the direction in which you want the ball to be played.
Backheel pass
Backheel pass is a great and sophisticated way to play the ball without losing pace. Among other things, it is useful to withdraw the ball or to shoot it to another player when you have no other option to play. Backheel pass can also be used in an attack, but you must remember that your player has to position his back in the direction of the pass. To make a backheel pass, press the button responsible for tempo control and the button responsible for passing, choose the direction in which you want to perform this action.
Lob pass
Lob pass to another player in order to transfer the weight of the game to the other side of the pitch. Passing in the upward direction is extremely useful during offensive or counter actions. Overhead passes allow the ball to be quickly thrown into a sector of the pitch that is less contained by the opponent's players, which can open up an easy way to score. If you want to make a lob pass, press the key responsible for the throw and select the direction in which you want to send the football ball. When using this move, you must also pay attention to the strength bar so that the pass is not too short or too strong.
Through ground pass
Passing through ground on a running player is a great way to surprise a rival's defensive, which can open the way to the goal. Because of the very high effectiveness, perpendicular passes on the ground should be made as often as possible, but during the execution it's important to remember that the strength of such pass should not be too high. What's more, the game should be played at a certain speed, i.e. when the attacking player is just before the last defensive line of the opponent, so that the whole action doesn't end in an offside kick. If you want to make a through ground pass, press the button responsible for the perpendicular pass and choose the direction in which you want to send the football.
Through ground lob pass
Through ground lob pass allows you to pass one or even two opponent formations and create a dangerous sub-gate situation. Perpendicular lop pass is especially useful for playing close or in the penalty area on an incoming player to work out a standalone situation with the goalkeeper. In order to make a perpendicular lob pass, press the key responsible for the through ground pass and the modifier. Also remember to choose the right direction in which you want to send the football.
Precise through ground pass
Precise through ground pass is a quick pass just above the ground used to transfer the weight of the game to the wing or to send the ball between defensive players in the middle of the field. Precise through ground pass is particularly useful during a counterattack. In order to play this move, press the perpendicular pass button and the precise pass modifier.
