Last update: 26 September 2018
This chapter contains info about all the basic mechanics of FIFA 19. In this section you will find information on how to move around the pitch, perform passes, crossings, shots and performing fixed parts of the game. Each topic is additionally enriched with a handful of tips and instructions on how to perform them.
Moving on the pitch
Moving properly on the pitch can create dangerous shooting situations and may serve as an effective way to stop the opponent's action. Forming an action or building defense is not just a continuous use of sprint.
The ball in constant motion
In FIFA 19 there can't by any situation when a player with the ball is standing still. The ball must be constantly on the move, because it's the "football" that tears up the opponent's defense and forces him to change players. This way you can open up new paths to score a goal.
Prudent use of sprint
Excessive sprinting will result in worse ball handling because you move the ball too far away from the player. What's more, continuous fast running has a negative impact on the efficiency and accuracy of passes and shots. So don't overuse sprint when you don't have enough space in front of you to take advantage of this acceleration.
Don't attack blindly
If you continuously attack opponent's players in order to receive ball as soon as possible, it may result in finishing off your own players and creating many defensive loopholes. Remember that not every opponent's attack will result in a charge on your goal gate, so sometimes it's worth waiting for the right moment to take over the ball. What's more, after picking up the ball you'll sometimes have to play it backwards or to the side sectors of the pitch which allows your players to take a better position.
