Step 1 - Starting players, logo and kits
The first step is to make your squad. The game asks you to choose a starting pack that will give you your first players. Your nationality doesn't have huge impact here. Then, you have to choose your logo and kits. Lastly, you can borrow a few of the best FIFA 19 players who can be part of your squad for a certain number of matches. For example, Robert Lewandowski (presented in the picture above) can play 3 matches in your team. However, better players shouldn't be part of your squad during the first few matches which are played against AI.
Step 2 - Bonuses from the Market
You can spend your FFC points from previous FIFA games on the market. Coin boosts are the most important purchase at the beginning of the game. It is important to buy the biggest boosts first - the game activates them in the order in which they were assigned to your account. The picture above shows a boost that grants 1,000 extra coins after every match - this effect lasts for 10 matches. You can lose a lot of coins if your first boost gives you only 200 extra coins.
Step 3 - Additional purchases
You can purchase extra balls, provided that you have a few FFC points left. You can sell these balls later by using quick sell option. Thanks to that you can get another several hundreds of points that will be very helpful in developing your first squad.
Step 4 - Introductory challenges
Beginners are asked to complete a few introductory challenges. However, you can close this screen immediately and go to FUT's main menu. Buy a bronze player with the smallest amount of points possible. Another good idea is to purchase a golden player but don't spend more than 300 coins. The last challenge requires you to place a newly purchased player in your first squad and play at least one match with him.
Step 5 - Starter and daily objectives
After completing introductory challenges, you can focus on starter and daily objectives. Some daily objectives can be completed when you are doing the introductory ones which means that you can save both time and money. Starter objectives are divided into 4 groups (besides introductory ones). Complete an objective to receive coins, packs with players etc. Completing an entire set of objectives gives you a chance to receive silver or even gold players.
Step 6 - Squad Building Challenges
One of the starter objectives requires you to complete at least one Squad Building Challenge. Try to spend some time on this mode and do all the objectives from the first group - you will get a few extra players. If you aren't able to complete some of them right now, you can always come back here later.
Step 7 - Play a match in Squad Battles
One of the objectives from the next few starter groups requires you to play a match in Squad Battles mode. Here, you play against an AI controlled team that was created by members of FIFA 19 community. Choose the lowest possible difficulty level if you have just started playing FIFA 19 or you don't have a strong team. Complete this objective to receive coins and extra 1,000 coins thanks to the purchased boost.
Step 8 - Win against the Team of the Week
Team of the Week consists of the best players in a given week. Your task is to defeat this team. Players who are part of this squad are really great when it comes to technique or speed, and they have really high stats. Winning against a team like this isn't easy, especially at the beginning of the game. Therefore, you should adjust the difficulty level. Win this match to receive coins that will help you develop your team.
Step 9 - Strengthening your team, buying new players
At this point you should have several thousands of coins - you are going to spend them on your first golden team that will allow you to participate in all FIFA 19 Ultimate Team modes.
When you are creating a new team the first thing you should do is to see if you can use your already owned players. Check your gold players and examine their stats. You can also see how much they are worth on the transfer market - decide whether you want to keep them or sell so you can buy new players. Pay attention to the chemistry level of your team. The higher the level, the better. You can achieve that by using players of the same nationality or from the same football club. You should also remember to assign them to the right positions. The picture above shows a team in 4-4-2 formation where the majority of its players come from Spain. The team has also a manager from this country - this person helped the team to reach full chemistry. The squad above costs around 10,000 coins. Things you should remember about when you are looking for new players:
- Look for deals on the transfer market. Try to make a bid on more expensive players, don't buy them for high prices.
- Buy only gold players.
- Pay attention to their contracts. Look for players who can play at least a few matches without the need to extend a contract with them.
- If you need coins, you can play a few matches against the AI, i.e. Squad Battles.
Step 10 - Division Rivals
Time to take your golden team to Division Rivals mode (weekly tournaments). The goal of the first 5 matches is to determine where you will be placed. Players are assigned to various leagues where they have to compete against other players for new ranks and rewards. Division Rivals mode is a great way to strengthen your own team.
