Choosing the right faction will allow you to develop your character in the way that you want. Each faction has characteristic features and abilities that are suitable for a specific play style. Because of that you should really think hard about selecting your faction.

Berserkers

If you want to use spells, Berserkers are a perfect choice - in the world of Elex, Berserkers are the ones that perfected magic. Their abilities allow them to summon ghosts, quickly heal their wounds or increase their damage. They can enchant weapons (but only those that come from old times - axes, swords, hammers) and send a few arrows from a bow at the same time. Berserkers allow you to create a character that uses melee attacks and supports himself with spells and a bow.

Faction abilities:

  1. Berserker - Berserkers' basic ability that gives you access to other abilities of this faction. Unlocks faction trainers, allows you to buy their equipment, enables use of mana and gives you an option to upgrade magic weapons as well as increases poison resistance.
  2. Magic - each new level extends duration or damage of a spell.
  3. Mana - each new level increases amount of available mana (which is used for casting spells).
  4. Enchant Weapons - allows you to enchant weapons which increases their damage.
  5. Scatter Shot - allows you to shoot a few arrows at the same time.
  6. Seeker Shot - allows you to shoot a homing arrow.
  7. Camouflage Spell - unlocks a spell that reduces your chance of being detected by enemies.
  8. Leather Skin Spell - unlocks a spell that increases armor.
  9. Aspect of the Warrior Spell - unlocks a spell that increases melee damage.
  10. Blood Transfer Spell - unlocks a spell that allows you to turn a part of your life into mana.
  11. Spirit Wolf Spell - unlocks a spell that summons ghosts that can help you during fights.
  12. Sense Life Spell - unlocks a spell that highlights all living creatures in your view.
  13. Poisonous Aura Spell - unlocks a spell that deals poison area damage from.
  14. Healing Spell - unlocks a spell that allows you to heal your character and his companion.

Outlaws

Outlaws' skills allow you to create a character that uses rifles (those which shoot regular bullets, not plasma). They also spend a lot of time on using workbenches. Outlaws offer a lot of abilities that are useful during crafting - thanks to that you can create weapons, ammo and stimulants that grant you various bonuses. Besides that, you also get access to dismantling weapons which allows you to get parts that can you can sell or use in crafting.

Captain Armor

Faction abilities:

  1. Outlaw - Outlaws' basic ability that gives you access to other abilities of this faction. Unlocks faction trainers, allows you to buy their equipment, upgrade mechanical weapons and increases radiation resistance. Besides that, it removes experience penalty when you are using stimulants and allows you to use a few stimulants at the same time.
  2. Unscrew - unlocks ability to dismantle weapons (thanks to that you can get crafting parts that you can use or you sell).
  3. Create Ammunition - allows you to create ammo for the Outlaws' weapons.
  4. Body Chemistry - each new level extends duration and increases effects of stimulants.
  5. Low-Tech Weaponsmith - unlocks ability to create the Outlaws' weapons by using a workbench.
  6. Chem Capacity - each new level increases number of stimulants that can be used at the same time.
  7. Overdrive Stim - allows you to create a stimulant that speeds up health regeneration.
  8. Steel Skin Chem - allows you to create a stimulant that temporarily increases your resistance to all kinds of damage.
  9. Pick-me-up Stim - allows you to create a stimulant that temporarily increases your attack and block speed.
  10. Scrap Scanner Chem - allows you to create a stimulant that temporarily increases visibility of regular items.
  11. Immune Booster Chem - allows you to create a stimulant that temporarily increases resistance to all types of effects (radiation, fire, frost, poison).
  12. Tough Guy Chem - allows you to create a stimulant that temporarily increases damage resistance.
  13. Mind Changer Stim - allows you to create a stimulant that temporarily doubles your damage.
  14. Animal Lover Chem - allows you to create a stimulant that temporarily scares off weaker animals from attacking the player.

Clerics

Clerics are a perfect choice if you plan on using ranged weapons a lot (especially various energy and plasma rifles) and support yourself with abilities that resembles magic. Clerics have access to PSI abilities that are similar to spells - they allow you to use power waves, teleport at a short distance or create holograms.

Faction abilities:

  1. Clerics - Clerics' basic ability that gives you access to other abilities of this faction. Unlocks faction trainers, allows you to buy their equipment, allows you to use PSI abilities and upgrade energy weapons as well as increases fire resistance.
  2. PSI - each new level extends duration or increases damage of a PSI ability.
  3. Battery - each new level increases amount of energy that is used by PSI abilities.
  4. High-Tech Weaponsmith - unlocks ability to create the Clerics' weapons by using a workbench.
  5. One Man Army - increases your damage when you travel without a companion.
  6. Suggestion - unlocks new dialog lines that can influence other characters in certain dialogs.
  7. Technophile - unlocks PSI ability that highlights all synthetic creatures and high-tech equipment.
  8. Cleansing Ability - unlocks PSI ability that removes all effects inflicted on the player.
  9. Power Shield - unlocks PSI ability that creates a force field that protects from damage.
  10. One with the Weapon Ability - unlocks PSI ability that increases ranged weapons damage.
  11. Phasing Ability - unlocks PSI ability that allows you to teleport at a short distance and leave hero's hologram in the place where he stood.
  12. Power Wave Ability - unlocks PSI ability that creates power wave that deals damage.
  13. The Last Stand Ability - unlocks PSI ability that revives the hero with half of his health.
  14. Projection Ability - unlocks PSI ability that allows you to create a hologram that distracts enemies' attention.
