Games created by Spiders are not for everyone. The Technomancer is probably the most controversial item in our lineup. Guided by the opinions of people not involved in minute analysis of works from smaller and lesser-known developers, it is easy to ignore this mix of magic and technology, but I think that in this particular case it is worth familiarising yourself with the source material. Not to mention it is a much better work than their previous game, Bound by Flame.
Apparently, many owners of The Technomancer bounce right off after they launch the game. While the prologue of the story was completed by more than 60% of buyers, as much as 75% had trouble with making it past the first chapter, which taks place in an enclosed space occupied by one of the factions. The fault, of course, lies with the developers, who – having limited resources – have not delivered a game with sufficiently fantastic content. The combat mechanics has a steeper curve and is not as fluid compared to more popular competition, but the title makes up a lot with solid quests and interesting characters.
Did you know that the company's previous game, also an RPG, titled Bound by Flame, was completed on Steam only by 5.6%, and at the lowest difficulty level? As you can see, despite some appeal, few fans are really interested in getting to the end of the main storyline.
