Hades is a relatively new, independent production from the small studio Supergiant Games. Despite limited advertising budget, but thanks to great, dynamic gameplay, the story of the son of the mythological Hades, Zagreus, trying to escape hell at the cost of a few (ten) deaths, quickly became a huge commercial and artistic success. Not only the gameplay itself was noteworthy – there also was the expressive style of the game and a well-conceived plot.
So far, we have not heard of any attempt making it into a movie. However, keep in mind that this is a relatively new game. In addition, it's a rather niche game. There are plans for Hades 2 though, so maybe things will change in a few years.
The style of this game would be perfectly suited to stop-motion animation. The kind that Tim Burton specializes in. Honestly, I couldn't imagine anyone else as the director's of this potential movie. Zagreus could be voiced by Johnny Depp, for example, and John Goodman could act as his father. Winona Ryder would suit Megajra. What do you think?
