  4. Is this another production in this universe: no
  5. Is it a developer debut: yes

It's hard to say what The Last Case of Benedict Fox really is. We have some metroidvania, some eye-pleasing backgrounds, a few adventure-game mechanics, and that Lovecraftian-Victorian atmosphere. If everything goes as it should when it comes to technical aspects, and even without a very original plot, the debutants from Plot Twist should make a lot of noise next year with their production.

I alluded to the plot - this is to be a dark, detective puzzle, a final case of the vigilante Benedict Fox. The whole story takes place in Boston in the 20th century (although the aesthetics in many places point to a slightly earlier era, hence the Victorian inclinations). Fox himself is not a professional detective - having not believed in how police handled the case, he decides to investigate the gruesome murder of a young couple and the kidnapping of their child on his own.

Our protagonist will spend some time in The Abyss, encountering various demons and enlisting some of them for help. The combat system is supposed to be Souls-inspired, but thanks to a variety of abilities and attacks, the difficulty level shouldn't be that high.
