The first Ghostrunner surprised players with extremely dynamic and devilishly difficult gameplay. Our hero, the titular Ghostrunner, is the only person who can stand against the Keymaster, who is ruling the last city on Earth with an iron hand. This quest required fluid movement (the main selling point of the game) in both the real world and cyberspace.

The game was characteristic for its jacked difficulty level. There was no protection against bullets, and sometimes failure or success was decided a few pixels apart. More so that our hero didn't had much health and died from a single shot. Fortunately, there was a multitude of checkpoints, but completing even a short section gave a lot of satisfaction.

A DLC for the first installment, Project_Hel, was released in March 2022, and in 2023, a fully-fledged sequel is expected, although so far we don't know much about it except that the developers are working tirelessly to deliver. As a result, as is often the case with sequels, be prepared for more of the same thing, just better. The bar is set really high.
