The third installment of Layers of Fear is developed jointly by Bloober Team and independent from the time of the first entry's release, Anshar Studios. This means this is a chance for the first continuation of this cult-classic horror which is being developed by all authors of the original.
The game is powered by Unreal Engine 5. This means that visually, the production is stunning which can be seen in the first promotional materials. It almost attains the elusive "interactive movie" mark. Only human models remind us that we are still dealing with a video game (which doesn't mean that they look bad, just a bit worse than the backgrounds).
We can expect as much psychedelia as in the original. This time, however, we will get a completely new story that continues some plotlines from the previous parts. Of course, there will be enough share of the series' characteristic macabre paintings and the persona of the painted itself. However, we'll know the full story once Layers of Fears is officially released.
