Maximum level in the basic game

1. In Dragon Age Origins, as in most other RPGs, your character levels up after accumulating a certain amount of experience. However, this does not mean that you can level up heroes without any restrictions.
2. You must be aware that there is a maximum experience level limit. It is different for the basic version of the game and for the large story expansion - Awakening. In the base version of DA: Origins, the maximum level is 25. This corresponds to accumulating 186,000 experience points.
3. The good news is that the mentioned limit is very high. By only going through the main story, you should finish the game at around level 20-22. Story DLCs can help you reach level 25, offering new opportunities to gain XP - new battles, codex entries or quests.

Increased level limit in the Awakening expansion

1. Awakening is a major story expansion for Dragon Age: Origins. One of its features is raising the maximum level.
2. After starting the Awakening expansion, your heroes can go beyond level 25. The new limit is level 35 and this corresponds to accumulating 353,500 experience points.
3. The level 35 limit may also apply to all subsequent story DLCs that were released after the Awakening expansion. However, you must have the aforementioned expansion installed.
