Does Dragon Age: Origins allow you to hide helmets? On this page, we described the way to hide headgear without losing bonuses from the equipped piece of armor. You will learn, among other things, how the No Armor Hack mod works.
Default helmet visibility settings
- Helmets, hoods and other headgear are visible all the time during exploration and combat. If you want to hide them, you would have to remove them from the active equipment slots, but then you would lose their armor bonuses and any other potential stats.
- The game can temporarily hide headgear during conversations and cut-scenes running on the game engine. This will allow you to see the characters' faces and it is particularly useful in a situation where a given character has a full helmet covering their entire face. You don't have to manually remove helmets before each conversation.
- Unfortunately, there is no way to permanently hide headgear in the game options. They must remain visible outside of conversations.
No Armor Hack Mod 1_2 for PC
- The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Dragon Age: Origins do not have any workaround for the described problem. You have to get used to the sight of helmets or hoods.
- The PC version has mods. We recommend the No Armor Hack 1_2 mod, which you can download along with instructions from Nexus Mods.
- This modification will allow you to hide every element of the armor, not just the headgear. This is available to all party members.
- The most important advantage of this mod is that helmets and other armor elements are only hidden. This does not remove them from active slots, so you can still enjoy all their benefits (armor effectiveness, weight and any other statistics). They are simply treated as invisible.
