In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild there are a lot of smaller secrets you can encounter when exploring. This section decribes all those secrets.

Grante

This NPC is easy to miss. If you complete From the Gound Up, you will be able to find hi mat Tarrey Town by the entrance to the town. You can buy unique items that you have previously acquired and lost from him. If you e.g. broke the Hylian Shield or sold your armor go to him to retrieve this particular piece of equipment for a fee.

Shooting stars

In the evenings, you will be able to see shooting stars in the sky. If you follow them and find them on the ground, you will find precious pieces that you can use to upgrade some armor sets etc..

Cuccos

If you hit a chicken at Kakariko Village, they will hatch an egg that you can i.a. use for cooking. If you hit them too many times, though, a flock of birds will jump at you and you'll have to run!

Mounting wild animals

You can mount wild animals such as bears and deer.

Renewing rusty weapons

You can use Rock Ocoroki to renew rusty weapons and shields. The monster will suck the item in and spit out a fixed one.

Swimming without an armor

If you swim without armor, link will swim faster (of course, Zora Armor is a better solution here).

Taming dogs

Occasionally, you will encounter dogs. If you feed one three times with fruit/meat and spend some time on playing with it, the dog might lead you to a treasure chest.

Selfie

With a camera rune activated, press X and select the pose.

Lord of the Mountain

You will find this creature at Satori Mountain, south of Riderland Tower. There is a majestic animal in the area with thick gleam. If you sneak, you will be able to mount this animal. It is very fast, unfortunately, you cannot register it at the stables.

The Horse Fairy

If you go to Malanya Spring, south-east of Highland Stable, you will find a flower that looks like Great Fairy Fountain. If you pay 1000 rupees, it will turn out it an revie dead horses. This is extremely useful after losing a maxed-out horse.

Coliseum Ruins

You wil find them north from Great Plateau. As you progress and fight strong beasts, you will be able to find all kinds of the strongest enemies in the game at the ruins, including the most powerful silver enemy types. At the Coliseum, you will be able to acquire precious armor - highly useful on your adventures.
