Chuchus

Chuchus are jelly monsters that are usually found in several elementary variants - All opponents Description & Characteristics in Zelda Breath of the Wild - Gameplay Basics - The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Guide

Chuchus are jelly monsters that are usually found in several elementary variants. In addition, they can be found in three different size options. The enemies are very weak, just focus few attacks on them and they shall die quickly. Elementary Chuchus are a bit dangerous, because when you interact with them you can get a burn or a paralysis. Also, they explode after death, so get away from them as soon as possible. A good strategy to deal with them is to throw a bomb or hit them with a proper arrow. Jelly that you find in enemy loot can be used to fight other enemies (fire smokes enemies, ice freezes, etc.)

Keese

Keese are a variety of flying Chuchus that are more annoying than dangerous - All opponents Description & Characteristics in Zelda Breath of the Wild - Gameplay Basics - The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Guide

Keese are a variety of flying Chuchus that are more annoying than dangerous. Enemies will poke you mostly in the mountains and pose no problem. Each of this type of enemy has only 1 HP, so you can quickly get rid of them. Sometimes, the enemy fly in the clouds, although this is not a problem. Just use lock on target and quickly neutralize it. I should add that parts of Keese can be sold in Kilton's shop.

Octoroks

Octoroks, which look like an octopus, are pretty annoying creatures that attack you with spitting stones. They often jump out of the water or from the ground, and attack Link from a distance. They are very vulnerable to any attack and will quickly die if you just focus your attention on them. It's good to kill them with a bow, but a good option is to just pull the shield and stand in front of the enemy. You can reflect a stone that will fly into the enemy and quickly kill him.

Wizzrobes

Wizzrobes - dangerous opponents, which are often found in large groups - All opponents Description & Characteristics in Zelda Breath of the Wild - Gameplay Basics - The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Guide

Wizzrobes - dangerous opponents, which are often found in large groups. They hoover over the ground. They are able to become invisible and use strong elementary attacks. Additionally, they are able to call Keese/Chuchus for help, which further complicates the encounter with them. The best option is to use the element of surprise and as get close as possible in stealth mode. Then it is best to quickly charge them p and use strong weapons (preferably spears) or eliminate Wizzroboes with a bow.

Bokoblins

Real cannon fodder among the opponents in the game - All opponents Description & Characteristics in Zelda Breath of the Wild - Gameplay Basics - The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Guide

Real "cannon fodder" among the opponents in the game. Bokoblin is the most common type of enemies in the game, and it's worth it to be prepared before fighting them. Most opponents are armed with short-range weapons and will seek direct confrontation with Link. This creates are perfect for training combat mechanics like: Perfect Guard/ Perfect Dodge. Attacks of Bokoblin are very readable, and the fight against them should not cause any major problems. Watch out for bokoblins armed with bows, because they cause much more damage.

Moblins

At first glance, this type of enemy looks pro and heralds a tough fight - All opponents Description & Characteristics in Zelda Breath of the Wild - Gameplay Basics - The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Guide

At first glance, this type of enemy looks pro and heralds a tough fight. Nothing more confusing, because moblins are an over-the-top version of bokoblin, and they're not very dangerous. However, because of their size, they cause more damage. Despite that, they're slower so you may defeat them easily. Quick attacks, dodges, possible shots from a bow in the head stand for a good recipe for victory.

Lizalfos

They are fast and very clever enemies - All opponents Description & Characteristics in Zelda Breath of the Wild - Gameplay Basics - The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Guide

They are fast and very clever enemies. As soon as they notice you, they instantly rush in your direction and try to get you hit from the air. It's the perfect moment for a perfect dodge and a quick counterattack. If you feel strong enough, you can try to aim a bow at their horn, in the center of their heads. If you hit, you will deal powerful critical damage. The fight will probably end. However, if you prefer close combat, dodge a lot and use a spear.

Yiga Clan

In Yiga Clan you will find two types of enemies - All opponents Description & Characteristics in Zelda Breath of the Wild - Gameplay Basics - The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Guide

In Yiga Clan you will find two types of enemies:

  1. Yiga Footsoldier - This type of enemies will basically start fighting from a quick jump up and shoot arrows towards Link. To easily defeat these enemies, use the sprint to find them in their area as quickly as possible and use fast-striking weapons to get rid of them fast. You can also face these enemies if you talk to some random NPCs in the game - they will turn out to be masked enemies and attack you after the dialogue. Threat: 2/6
  2. Yiga Blademaster - these enemies are much more dangerous and can spoil some blood for you. They are able to block attacks, and they have in stock a few unpleasant tricks: create spikes under the feet of Link, use a strong beam from a distance, and perform strong and fast cuts in melee combat. The best tactic is to quickly shorten the distance to them, use a perfect guard/dodge and then use counterattack. Threat: 4.5/6

Guardian Vehicles

The most powerful type of enemies (except Lynels) in the game - All opponents Description & Characteristics in Zelda Breath of the Wild - Gameplay Basics - The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Guide

The most powerful type of enemies (except Lynels) in the game. This type of enemy is armed with a powerful laser that deals massive damage after charging and firing. However, there is a certain tactic, which is described in the relevant section of this guide. In short: you must master laser reflection with your shield, which however requires some skill. However, you should definitely learn this trick as soon as possible, because the guards will appear more and more often in the game. There is a lot of these near the castle.

Guardian Scouts

These kinds of Guardians can only be found in temples and basically serve as a test of your combat skills - All opponents Description & Characteristics in Zelda Breath of the Wild - Gameplay Basics - The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Guide

These kinds of Guardians can only be found in temples and basically serve as a test of your combat skills. They differ from each other in size, armament and the complexity of the attack. The most powerful version of these enemies has as many as three melee weapons and has the following attacks:

  1. Quick laser shots, mostly when you're out of close range.
  2. Powerful, though easy to avoid attacks that are easy to counter (also use flurry rush).
  3. Twisting slash with a laser - this attack should be avoided at all cost, retreating to a further distance and attacking the enemy with your bow.
  4. Twisting slashes with melee weapons - this attack has to be avoided. Hide behind any cover like metal objects or columns.
  5. A laser charge and a shot - this double attack is similar to those used by larger varieties of guardians. Use the shield to repel and reflect the attack directly on the enemy.

This type of enemies can be found in characteristic crossings, mostly in dungeons or in Hyrule Castle. If you see a black and pink maw on the walls, you can be sure that somewhere nearby you may find a maw spitting out the levitating monster heads.
