Outposts WoW: Warlords of Draenor Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
You can put up buildings also outside of the garrison. In the majority of lands that you are going to visit, you can set an Outpost. Most often, this is going to require you to complete several quests, which leads you to a small base set up by your followers. The quests are easy and they are difficult to miss.
One of your next tasks is going to be to build a special building in your outpost. You will always be able to pick one out of the two available ones. Each of the buildings provides you with certain profits and often, also an extra follower in your garrison. Before you pick your building, you should first consider the profits that you are going to gain, because your choice should depend not only on your preferences, but also on your playing style.
Once you pick the building, the ability that it ensures will be added to your quick bar. You can only use this ability only in the location, where the building is located. For example, if you currently are in Gorgrond you can use the ability that you have obtained from the building put up there. If, however, you leave Gorgrond and travel, e.g. to Talador, that ability is replaced, in your quick bar, with the one available in this area.
Apart from the abilities, the outposts profit you in different ways also. In there, you can find traders, where you can sell or repair your gear. Often, it is in outposts that you receive new quests. Also, you can find the commander's desk here, where you accept reports from your followers and dispatch them on missions. Therefore, you do not need to return to the garrison each time, to manage the followers.
Below, you can find the list of all the locations, where you can put up a building, as well as the buildings that can be built there. It is accompanied with descriptions of the profits that these provide (the names of the structures may be slightly different, depending on your alliance):
Gorgrond
Sparring Arena It allows you to use [Champion's Honor], thanks to which, the champion of the arena fights with you for a minutes. After the time elapses, you receive a buff to your statistics, for 5 minutes. The potency of the buff depends on how many opponents you manage to kill within that minute. | Lumber Yard Thanks to this building, you receive [Summon Mechashredder 5000], thanks to which you summon a huge robot that you can control for a minutes. The robot ensures huge firepower, which makes it perfect against bosses (you need to be careful, though, because using the Shredder in some battles, terminates them). Additionally, thanks to it, you will be able to obtain resources for the garrison, by cutting through creepers. You can use the Mechashredder every 10 minutes, for the duration of one minute. |
Talador
Arcane Sanctum Thanks to this building, you will be able to use the [Guardian Orb]. It summons an orb of energy that deals around 9-14k damage to your opponents. The orb flats around the battlefield for 30 seconds. The reload time is 5 minutes. | Arsenal Thanks to the arsenal, you can summon artillery fire, around Talador. You summon it with the [Artillery Strike]. There are up to three charges available, at any moment, which regenerate after, around 3 minutes and 20 seconds. Each charge consists of three fireballs that deal AoE damage. One fireball deals between 25 and 38 thousand damage so, it is easy to calculate that you can deals more than 300k damage with all three strikes. Even though the artillery fire comes from the sky, you can use it both in buildings and underground. |
Spires of Arak
Smuggling Run Thanks to this building, you can summon a trader that sells very interesting items. | Brewery After you choose this building, you gain access to [Home Away from Home], which allows you to teleport to your outpost. The ability becomes useful, if you are in the need of a tactical retreat from the battlefield. Still, it is not used too often. |
Nagrand
Tankworks Thanks to this building, you can summon the Telaari Siege Engine or the Wor'var Demolisher, depending on the alliance. It is a huge tank armed with rockets and a flame thrower and deals tremendous damage. You can summon it every ten minutes. It is worth noting that the usage time is unlimited, for as long as you retain your health. It is very useful, if you want to kill, e.g. lots of enemies that are spread apart. Usually, one flame thrower burst is enough to eliminate the enemy. You can collect items from the corpses of the enemies without getting out of the vehicle. | Corral This building ensures you with what most of the players of the World of Warcraft dream about, i.e. the ability to collect items without the necessity to get off the mount. You receive the ability to summon the Telaari Talbuk or the Frostwolf War Wolf mounts, thanks to which you can fight without losing the speed that they ensure. However, it should be noted that they are available in Nagrand only. |
