How to get new equipment in Warhammer Vermintide 2? Warhammer Vermintide 2 Guide and Walkthrough
Last update: 02 August 2018
In Warhammer: Vermintide 2, equipment affects your character's Power level which makes your character stronger. Power increases your damage but it also raises other stats such as movement or attack speed. You need better equipment to develop your character.
The only way to get new equipment is to open boxes - they contain either weapons or jewelry. You can use collected items or salvage them to craft new pieces of gear (check "Crafting" page to learn more about this process).
How to get boxes? There are two ways:
Completing Okri's Challenges - they can be treated as achievements. For example - win 10 quick plays. Each completed challenge or quest rewards you with a box. However, these are the basic boxes which means that you won't find the best gear. More information on these challenges can be found on "Okri's Challenge" page.
Completing missions - beating a quest always rewards you with a box. What is more, you can influence a box's content. Of course, the higher the quality, the better gear you get. A box's quality is determined by:
- Difficulty level - the higher the level, the better boxes you get. The best items (marked red) can be acquired only on "Champion" and "Legend" difficulty levels.
- Bonus for quick play - complete a mission in "Quick play" mode to receive a bonus to your box.
- Received tomes and grimoires - they are hidden items that upgrade your box and grant you additional XP. Check out "What are tomes and grimoires for?" page to learn more.
- Loot found - loot are yellow dice that appear randomly on a map or they can be dropped by bosses. You can also get loot from an enemy called Sack Rat - a Skaven with a sack on its back. He doesn't attack anyone - he will run away from you. Kill him to receive random loot, e.g. ammo, potions or the aforementioned yellow dice.
