Warhammer: Vermintide 2 allows you to play as one of the five unique characters - Basic information about the characters in Warhammer Vermintide 2 - Characters - Warhammer Vermintide 2 Game Guide

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 allows you to play as one of the five unique characters. Each one of them has access to three classes which are useful in different situations. These heroes also fight in different ways.

You can change your character in the main menu or during a game when you are inside of Taal's Horn Keep (the starting location). All characters are available right from the start. However, you have to level up to unlock their classes. Reach level 7 to unlock the second class. Level 12 unlocks the third class. Levels are counted separately for the characters.

This chapter focuses on all the characters available in the game - the description of every character consists of a full list of their abilities and talents, suggested builds as well as tips and advice on how to play a given class. The game allows you to play as:

  1. Markus Kruber
  2. Bardin Goreksson
  3. Kerillian
  4. Victor Saltzpyre
  5. Sienna Fuegonasus

What are talents and abilities?

Abilities are available regardless of your level. Among them you can find a class ability that has a specific effect (e.g. a charge or a move that knocks enemies) that can be used at any moment (remember that this ability has a cooldown). The rest of the abilities are passive - they either work all the time or they activate when you meet certain conditions (e.g. hit 3 enemies with one strike). Each of the classes has a few different abilities - you can't change them. The only way to upgrade an ability is to buy a talent related to it.

Talents allow you to develop your character, they have an impact on a hero's stats and they help you adjust a given hero suit to your playstyle. Talents can be selected at levels 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25. After reaching any of these levels you can select one out of three talents - this choice isn't permanent, talents can be changed freely without any consequences or additional costs. You can use only one talent tied to a given level which means that you can use five talents at a time (provided that your character's level is 25 or higher).
