Mission 5.1: Dante's Casino - Hell's Gate Rainbow Six Vegas Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
Time and place: Dante's Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas; July 3rd, 0215 Hours
This isn't going to be an easy mission. The most important thing here will be to plan each move very carefully. Remember that you won't have to be in a lot of hurry. You will also have to use all possible objects for cover, especially if you decide to take on larger groups of enemy soldiers.
We'll start off inside the helicopter (#1). As you've probably noticed, a lot of fights are taking place on the streets of Las Vegas. You will have to reach one of the casino. The object is under construction and the terrorists are using it as a command post. They will also expect your attack, so there are going to be several traps waiting for your team. Once you're there, use the rope (#2). You will have to wait for the whole team to get here.
You start off inside an unfinished part of the casino. You will have to be very careful here, mostly because this area is being guarded by a large number of enemy troops. I would recommend ordering your men to move to your right (#1). You, on the other hand, should make a few steps forward. You will find a small wall here. This is an excellent cover point (#2). You should be able to take out almost all terrorists from here.
Some of the terrorists will be standing on the other end of this room, so it would be wise to use the scope (#1). Make sure that you have at least one good assault rifle at your disposal. Also, you will be able to give orders from here. It would be wise to send your team forward (#2), however make sure that your colleagues will hide behind one of the larger obstacles.
A second group of enemy soldiers should appear in this area. You will be able to take them out yourself, however you will have to use the scope (#1). Don't forget about the possibility of using a tactical map. Keep sending your team forward. Be careful, though. Some of the terrorists may actually consider using grenades. Avoid frags. You can ignore most of the smoke grenades (#2), however you would have to order your men to go back to one of previous covers.
Once you've secured this entire area, leave this platform and head on to the lower level. Rejoin with the rest of the squad and start moving forward. You should be able to reach a ladder (#1). Use it. Like always, you will have to wait for your squad members to get here. Turn left and order your men to hide near the stairs (#2). Go there now. There are a few terrorists here. We will have to kill them before moving on to the next section of the map.
Take a closer look at your tactical map in order to familiarize yourself with the surroundings (#1). The terrorists are currently occupying this entire floor. Hide behind a wall and start shooting at them. Make sure that no one gets closer. Once you've taken the first group, make a few steps forward. I would recommend hiding behind one of the large metal pillars (#2). You should be able to take out the remaining targets from here.
Proceed to the next section. You will come across several rappel hooks (#1). Target these objects and activate the default action. Wait for the rest of the team to get here. Start sliding down. You should be able to reach a room that's filled with enemy soldiers. Give the order and proceed with the assault. You should be able to take out at least one terrorist from here (#2). He should be standing in front of you. Brake the glass and enter this room.
Once you've entered this room, I would recommend ordering your men to hide behind a nearest cover. A huge explosion is going to take place here (#1). This is a good thing, because you'll have more time to hide your squad members. Wait for a few seconds, so you'll regain full visibility. Start shooting at the remaining enemy units (#2). There are only a few soldiers here, so it shouldn't be much of a problem.
You will have to find a second ladder (#1). Use it to get down to a lower level. Just as before, you will have to wait for your colleagues to get here. You are standing in a dark room, so it would be wise to activate the nightvision goggles. Be careful. You are going to be attacked in just a few seconds (#2). Thankfully, there aren't many terrorists here, so you should be able to take them out.
Order your men to move forward. You will have to reach a new area. There are some rappel hooks here, however don't use them just yet. Instead order your teammates to get closer to a balustrade. If you're lucky, they should be able to kill a few terrorists from here (#1). Head on to the rappel hook and proceed with the well known order (#2). Slide down in order to reach the lower level of the compound.
You will find yourself inside a very dark room. Make a few steps forward (#1). I'd strongly recommend using your tactical map, so you won't miss anything important. Sadly, you won't be able to see everything with the nightvision turned on. As a result, you will have to consider switching to thermal vision (#2). Otherwise you wouldn't be able to see some of the terrorists. Keep using this feature. The only exception are the areas filled with burning objects.
You will come across a first group of enemy soldiers very soon. It would be wise to send the rest of the team towards unexplored area of the map. Make sure that you're using your tactical view all the time, so you won't have any problems finding the terrorists (#1). Head on to a small staircase (#2). You will come across at least two enemy soldiers here, so be careful.
More terrorists are hiding just around the corner. They will be standing on your left (#1). It's going to be very hard to see them. It's very dark here and you won't be able to rely on the thermal vision, mostly because there are a lot of heat sources here. It would be best to let the rest of the team handle this problem. You will have to reach a designated area of the map. Head on to the nearby stairs (#2).
More enemy soldiers will arrive here very soon (#1). If you decide to use the thermal vision, you should have any problems finding and killing them. Proceed to the next section. Be careful, though. One of the terrorists will be hiding just around the corner (#2). You will have to reach a new corridor.
