Mission 4.1: Vertigo Spire - Tower Assault Rainbow Six Vegas Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
Time and place: Vertigo's Spire, Las Vegas; July 3rd, 0135 Hours
This is a quite challenging mission, but I'm sure that you're getting used to this. You shouldn't have any major problems with most of the terrorists, however some of them will be well barricaded. As a result, you will have to commence several difficult assaults.
We'll start off inside an allied gunship. Take a closer look at the streets. As you've probably noticed, a lot of interesting things are happening here (#1). Your gunship is going to be attacked by an enemy RPG, however you won't have to worry about crashing down. Wait for the helicopter to reach the start building (#2). That's where your mission is going to take place. Slide down on the rope and wait for the rest of the squad to get here.
You start off on a roof of this building. You will be able to choose between several different approach routes, including the ropes. I would recommend taking a different path. You will have to locate a small entrance (#1) that leads to this building. Open the door and slide down on the rope (#2), so you won't waste too much time here. Wait for your teammates to show up.
Start moving towards a door that should be located in front of you. Use the Snake Cam. There are two enemy soldiers here. Tag them for your teammates. The second bandit is standing on your right, so make sure that you target him. Order your squad to prepare for an assault. Head on to the right door (#2). It leads to a different room, so you will have to use the camera once again. There are some terrorists here. One of them is standing by the window. I would recommend taking him out in a first place.
You will have to give the order to proceed with the assault. Open your door at the same time and start shooting at the terrorist soldier. Once he's gone, turn left and get rid of his colleague (#1). You could also hide behind the left wall. Go back to the rest of your squad and secure this entire room. You will have to get closer to a new door (#2) that leads to a much larger room.
Order your men to prepare for a second assault. Use the camera and tag at least one enemy soldier. Go back to the room that was located on your right. One of the terrorists is hiding just around the corner. You will have to kill him (#1). After that, help your colleagues to secure this entire area (#2). Thankfully, most of the terrorists should already be dead. Gather the rest of the squad around your position.
Now for the (very) hard part. Get closer to the stairs (#1). The main problem is that it's the only path leading to the lower floor. You won't be able to use ropes here. As a result, you will have to be very quick and precise. Start running towards the lower floor. Once you're there, hide behind the left wall (#2). Order your men to get here as well. You could also use some of the carried smoke grenades to blind your opponents.
You should know what has to be done from here. Start using your scope in order to take out the terrorists (#1). Most of them will be hiding at the opposite end of this room. There's not going to be a lot of them, however you should try and stay behind a good cover. Once you've secured this part of the room, order your teammates to move forward (#2). Make sure that you're using the tactical map. You should also activate the nightvision goggles.
Now you will have to move on to a second staircase (#1). Once again, proceed to the lower level of the building. This area won't be guarded, so you won't have to use smoke grenades. Once you're there, order your men to hide behind the left wall (#2). They should be able to take out several terrorists from there. Turn left while standing near the stairs. This is VERY important!
As you've probably noticed, there are two doors here. You will have to be very careful, because additional terrorists will arrive here (#1). Deal with this problem swiftly, so you won't lose any of your teammates. Thankfully, if you know about the attack, you won't have any problems killing these guys. Head on to the new corridor (#2). That's where the terrorists were hiding. Make sure that the rest of the squad is following you.
Now you will have to order your squad members to move to a small entrance (#1). They will automatically hide behind one of the walls. This room is being guarded by a small number of enemy soldiers. Once you've secured the entrance, try entering the room. You will have to hide behind one of the pillars (#2). You should be able to kill all of the remaining terrorists from here.
You will have to secure this entire room. Gather the rest of the squad around your current position. After that, head on to a large passageway (#1). You won't have any problems finding it. There aren't any enemy soldiers here, so you won't have to hide behind each cover. You will come across a much larger door. Use the camera. I would recommend tagging two terrorists (#2).
Order the rest of your squad to proceed with the assault. Your teammates won't have any problems killing the terrorists, especially since most of them will be standing here. Head on to the left side of this area and start shooting at the visible enemy soldiers (#1). Don't forget about your squad (#2). Make sure that your teammates are hiding behind one of the larger objects.
You could try and get closer to your final destination. Doing this will "activate" some of the terrorists. Check your tactical map to know where exactly they're standing (#1). It would be wise to go back to the door area and wait for them to show up here. You could also try and take them out from here, however it would be very risky. A larger group is standing on your right. One of the terrorists is hiding there (#2). You will have to watch out for him.
Once you've secured this entire area, you will be able to proceed with your last objective. You can reach the rappel hooks from the right balcony (#1). It's very important that you won't get shot, so make sure that the terrorists are dead. Use the rappel hooks (#2). After that, this mission will come to an end.
