Ying belongs to the group of attacking Operators in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege and has average armor and speed statistics. Her main attribute is the Candela, which can be used as a grenade or device attached to various surfaces. A Candela device triggers a series of flashes during an explosion that blinds enemies for a while. In addition, Ying has the ability to use Claymore or Breach Charges.
Candela device and its functions
The Candela works slightly different from the standard Flashbang Grenades and can be used in two ways. The first option is to throw the device like a grenade. In this case, the Candela device will shoot 6 consecutive flashes. What is very important, the Candela device does not activate immediately after contact with the surface but it works with a certain delay, so it can roll in the chosen direction. An alternative way to use this gadget is to set it on a demolishable surface, just like in the case of Fuze's grenades. The flashes will be fired on the other side of the surface. You can adjust the activation time of the device by holding it in your hand for a longer period of time.
How to protect yourself from Candela device?
A Candela can be destroyed with a standard weapon if you can shoot it down before activation. Another way to protect your position against this weapon is to use the Bandit gadget.
Ying resistance
Due to the special glasses Ying uses during the gameplay, she is resistant to her blinding charges, but she can still be confused by normal grenades or by flashbang charges located on the protective shields of some Operators.
