Aiming in Rainbow Six Siege Rainbow Six Siege Guide and Walkthrough
Last update: 02 July 2018
In FPS games like Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege, aiming is the most important thing. Without good accuracy, you won't be obtaining satisfying results. This means it will be hard for you to level up your account, unlock new operators and increase your position in the rankings. In this chapter, you will find information that will help you increase your accuracy in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege.
Positioning the crosshair
In Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege, the most effective way to eliminate the enemy is to shoot in his head. Each accurate headshot immediately kills the opponent. You should make a habit of holding the crosshair on the altitude of the head of the enemy so that the first shot will give you the maximum change for eliminating the target.
- A player that focuses on aiming at the head has greater chance to immediately eliminate the enemy,
- While lurking from behind a wall, try to move the crosshair to the place where enemy head might appear.
- If you hold the crosshair on the altitude of enemy's head, you will need much less time to react and potentially fix the position if the enemy appears in your sight.
Selecting the crosshair
In Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege, the player can choose from additional modifiers for the rifles. Among them, there are crosshairs, handles, lasers or suppressors. Each of them can increase weapon precision and it can make the weapon more efficient. The standard crosshair available in the weapon isn't precise enough to obtain satisfying results, so it is important to properly adapt the weapon before entering the battlefield. To select the crosshair for a weapon you have to:
- Enter the operators menu.
- Select equipment tab.
- Select weapon.
- From the weapon gadgets' section, select crosshairs section.
Usually you can choose from 4 crosshairs. Each of them differently displays the spot where the player is currently aiming. Most of them have red color, but it might not be effective on all maps. If a map is filled with red colors, you should select a green color of the crosshair.
Reducing the burst recoil
Each weapon available in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege has recoil that focuses you to fix your aim in order to hit a specific point with a longer series of bullets. You can control the recoil of the weapon by fixing the position of the crosshair (usually you must aim a bit to the down). The game also features modifiers that can improve the accuracy of a weapon - various suppressors or handles. The players can select from the following suppressors and handles:
- Flash hider - useful for players who are using short series technique.
- Compensator - useful for players who prefer rapid fire.
- Muzzle brake - reduces general weapon recoil while using single fire.
- Suppressor - reduces general weapon recoil.
Depending on what shooting technique you use, you can use adequate suppressor or handle in order to reduce weapon recoil.
