About The Guide to Witcher 3: Blood and Wine
Last update: 02 June 2016
This guide to the Blood and Wine expansion has been constructed in a similar manner to our guide to the base game, which should make it significantly easier to navigate. The two most important parts of this guide are the walkthrough of the main storyline and a section containing various maps of the duchy of Toussaint, which also includes descriptions of all the optional quests. The following guide assumes that the reader is well acquainted with the core game. Therefore, the guide omits any information concerning the basic gameplay mechanics, focusing instead only on completely new elements, such as subjecting Geralt to mutations - a feature introduced in Blood and Wine, which allows the protagonist to become even more powerful.
An important information is that the action of the entire expansion takes place on a completely new map - in the duchy of Toussaint. The guide includes maps with the most important locations marked, including things like places where you can find treasures.
The guide uses the following color code:
- The color brown is used for marking NPCs encountered in the course of the game (allies and opponents alike), as well as monsters.
- The color blue is used to highlight the names of locations you visit in the expansion (the site names in the guide are the same as in the game).
- The color green is used to mark the places where you find or receive items.
- Additionally, bold font is used to highlight the names of the quests.
Additionally, in the walkthrough for some quests you will find reference to maps available in the guide. For example, (M4,10) means that you must find point 10 on M5 map (Beauclair). Descriptions of all points are available under the maps.
