Renown | Caravan The Banner Saga 2 Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
Renown in The Banner Saga 2 is used as both gold and experience points. It can be used for:
- purchasing supplies and artifacts;
- upgrading the characters to higher levels.
As it was mentioned before, spending Renown points on buying supplies is not the smartest idea as long as you do not absolutely need to do it. Buying artifacts is a matter worth mentioning. They cost even more and do not give you much in return. No artifact will make your character invincible, it will just slightly increase their stats. Many of such artifacts can be obtained in a different way (like visiting Godstones).
If the two main ways of spending the Renown points are not recommended, then what is? The best way to spend them is upgrading the characters. In the beginning, it might seem that advancing a character from level 3 to 4 does not cost much. The hard part starts on higher levels, when advancing to a higher level costs a few dozen points.
Renown can be acquired in many ways. The most important one is by winning battles. Keeping your Heroes alive and killing all enemies is recommended. If you have an opportunity to fight, do not ignore it. The same applies to a situation where you can get a training. It does not always happen, but if it does, take the opportunity. A training can give you up to a couple dozen of Renown points.
Another way of acquiring Renown is making the right decisions on your way. Each decision has been described in the further part of the guide, in its main part - the walkthrough.
