Morale | Caravan The Banner Saga 2 Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
Morale is considered to be a secondary factor related to the caravan's journey, but it should not be ignored. This stat affects mostly the number of willpower points available in the beginning of each fight. Therefore, morale gives you some advantage right after you start a fight. Try to avoid depleting it completely, because low morale might result in losing all extra willpower points. In such cases, you will have to manage without them and wait until you kill the enemies to distribute this stat with the horn.
The caravan's morale may be decreased if:
- It travels for too long (morale decreases constantly, resting increases it.)
- You make an unpopular decision in a conversation or an event (e.g. accepting a bribe from thugs in a "good" caravan.
- You deplete the caravan's resources (more about resource management on the next page of this chapter.)
The caravan morale may be increased by:
- Resting in a camp or a town - each time the caravan stops, a day passes, so some resources are used, so it's not recommended to stop too often. Therefore, you should ask yourself a question - is morale the best choice? If the morale icon is orange or red, you should set up a camp and rest for a day or two. If it stays green, blue, or neutral, stopping is not worth it.
- Making decisions popular among the members of the caravan - saving a child, helping villagers etc. All events that increase morale have been described in the walkthrough.
- Stopping at locations with Godstones - investigating an altar does not use any resources, increases morale and sometimes lets you acquire a rare artifact.
