Death in The Surge 2 The Surge 2 guide, walkthrough
Last update: 23 September 2019
In The Surge 2 you can perish, and even die very often. The gameplay offers a high level of difficulty and you are unable to change it.
Thankfully, death is never permanent: when you lose your health, you wake up at the nearest respawn point (mission checkpoint or last visited MedBay), but you lose your tech scrap - if you do, you can pick it up where you left off. In the upper left corner of the screen (1) you will see how much time you have left to collect tech scrap, how far away it's located and in what amount you have abandoned it.
- Eliminating enemies along your way extends your time limit to get the scrap. Each defeated opponent adds +10 seconds, so hurry up to eliminate them if you need to earn some extra time.
- If you die on your way to get scrap, you'll lose the chance to get it back. The scrap collected along the way "overwrites" the previous pile of scrap metal. However, if, for example, you have abandoned tech scrap in the boss battle arena and manage to pick it up before your next death, it will be available to collect once again. So if you have a lot of scrap when you hit the arena and the fight doesn't look promising, it's worth dying in a place where you can easily collect scrap.
- After death and visiting MedBay, enemies respawn on the map (except bosses).
