Armor and MedBay in The Surge 2 The Surge 2 guide, walkthrough
Last update: 24 September 2019
Just like in the first part of The Surge, in the second installment you also have to develop the special armor of your hero using tech scrap metal found or looted from defeated enemies. Armor elements such as helmets and greaves change the stats of your character: by adjusting the mixed equipment or creating a set you will direct the game towards a specific style of play.
By using the MedBay, which you will find in the next stages of the game, you can modify your equipment and scrap metal resources and improve your armor. You can store the scrap you collect so you won't lose it when you die. To do so, click and hold the button on the lower left-hand wheel of the MedBay interface.
The first screen after the activation of MedBay looks as follows:
- Core power: this power supplies the suit modules and cannot be exceeded. If you don't have enough of it, you won't be able to select some items, you have to develop this option sequentially.
- Promotion - increase the power level by 1 for the indicated amount of scrap metal. The price increases with subsequent levels. Hold down the key on this button to get promoted.
- Energy consumption indicator - tells how much energy is consumed by installed modules. It includes armor pieces and implants. You cannot exceed this limit - cause it won't be possible to install a new item. The energy increases with the level of core power.
- Quantity of tech scrap - indicates the quantity of scrap metal stored in MedBay (small, grey number), and held in inventory (large, white font). Hold this button to transfer scrap from inventory to storage.
- Statistics - current amount of health, stamina and battery charges you can use before death / or visit at MedBay. Further - resistances. If you see that a certain area of the world is characterized by specific types of enemies dealing a particular type of damage, think about increasing your defense against specific elements. Attack strength and armor in the subsequent fields depends on the equipment.
- Module points - you receive them after promotion (core power expansion) and you can allocate them to three basic parameters, increasing their maximum level. You cannot undo any changes you have made or approved.
Use Tab key to change the tab. The equipment indicates the current status of the installed modules. Manage it by selecting body parts, create and upgrade modules using tech scrap metal.
Implants allow the hero to use special skills, but they often use the battery. Implants can be installed and dismantled outside of MedBay. The current number of modules to be installed is shown on the left and depends on the energy level of the player's core.
