Skill trees in The Council | Gameplay basics The Council Guide & Walkthrough

Last update: 15 March 2018

Skills in The Council are divided into three trees - Diplomat, Occultist and Detective. Each one of them contains a set of various abilities that are useful in different situations. At the beginning of the game you have to pick one class and select one tree as your main. This unlocks all abilities offered by a given class - you get access to five abilities, all at level 1. This doesn't mean that you can't use other abilities but they become more difficult to develop (you have to spend more points to have them at level 1). After buying a skill (you upgrade it to level 1) you unlock new dialog lines and actions. Each new level reduces Effort Points cost.
