Mission 4: Whispers in the Sand | Walkthrough ReCore Guide

Whispers in the Sand is the fourth mission in ReCore. You'll find a detailed list and a walkthrough for all its stages below.

• Searching for Cellbots

Violet will activate the transport cell after leaving the Pylon.

After leaving the Pylon and watching the cut-scene, you'll be informed that the world lies open for you. Before proceeding further, you should visit transport cells and return to Crawler in order to improve your companion. When you finish your work on Mack, return to the Pylon.

There is a hidden chest on the platform right above the entrance to the Pylon.

As you can notice, the sandstorm has passed. Take advantage of that, and visit the previously unavailable neighborhood in search of supplies. You should especially jump on the Pylon building, as there is a chest right above the entrance, on a highly situated platform. Watch out, as there are Spider Corebots on the building.

For the first time you'll face enemies on a large distance.

When you finish gathering resources, continue travelling in the direction of the green indicator. You'll have a few encounters with already familiar enemies. As long as you remember to change the ammunition color, they shouldn't be a problem for you. When you reach the first indicator, there will be a short cut-scene showing where you need to go. After few steps, you'll be attacked by Spider Corebots standing on the platforms. For the first time they will attack you from a serious distance, so you should cross that distance and defeat them as fast as you can. Once you destroy them, you should return to the location pointed by the indicator, as there is a chest, hidden in the middle of high rocks on the left.

Searching for Cellbots

The way further is blocked by closed gate, and to unlock it, you need to gather six Cellbots. As in the previous case, they are hidden around the area. They can be easily noticed thanks to the green afterglow.

• The first robot is on the platform where one of Spider Corebots was found.
• The second robot is on a ledge near the only platform that can be accessed from the ground level.
• The third robot is hidden on the platform inside the energy ring.
• Then, shoot the barrier guarding the next platform, and jump on it. The shield will soon be renewed, so jump to the next platform as quickly as you can. The fourth Cellbot can be found there.
• Continue jumping through platforms. The fifth robot can be found after the third jump.
• Turn around, and make a double jump and sprint to access the higher platform. Then, reach the nearby rocky ledge. On its border, there is a health upgrade for Joule.
• Now, you have to face two energy rings. The sixth robot is on a platform behind them. Red Poppers can be found between the chests.

The gate won't open until you gather six prismatic cores.

Once you get all the robots in this order, you'll reach the gate without any hassle. When you stop before the gate, the green Cellbots will enter the right sockets on their own, and power the gate, which will be open automatically. Just after it, on the right side, there is a gate that requires six cores to unlock it. A new transport capsule is on the left from a newly opened door.

The spots marked on the map are only dungeons, aside from the Pylon, for which you meet the requirements.

Searching for Prismatic Cores

The cores can be acquired in a few different ways. One of them is visiting, and completing at least one of two dungeons that can be currently accessed. First of them, Cavern Rush, is located to the north from your current position. The second one, Brood Hive can be found to the south from Pylon 512. Two cores are rewarded for finishing one of them.

But there is a faster way to acquire the two missing cores. The first core is hidden by the entrance to the location with the platforms where you've searched for Cellbots. While standing at the entrance, and looking at all platforms, there is a rock arch on the right. Below, there is a darkened circle in the sand. If you use Mack's special ability here, he will dig out one core for you.

You will be attacked by a number of enemies simultaneously when attempting to remove the core!

The second core can be found further to the south, west from Brood Hive. It is marked by a green indicator. When you reach a large wall, and jump behind it, Joule will comment on the dark crystals that can be found on the ground. Jump from platform to platform until you reach the second end of the installation. There, you can see a round object that can be interacted with using the extractor. After a core removal attempt, you'll be attacked by some blue Rouge K-9 and one Grabber that will attempt to kidnap your companion. Once you defeat them, you'll unlock the prismatic core, which has to be taken using the extractor, and return to the gate. Sadly, a tough fight awaits until you can proceed to the next location.

BOSS: Cadre

Even if the cut-scene introduces two enemies, you'll fight with only one.

Cadre is probably one of the easiest bosses in the game. His only advantage is high mobility and large jumps. This enemy can change his color in any given moment. It is signalized by an animation of him beating his chest, so remember about changing the ammunition color!

Once you defeat Cadre, approach the gate and open it using the prismatic cores. Once you enter The Cradle go ahead until you reach the next transport pod, and the mission will end.
