Mission 2: Paradise Lost | Walkthrough ReCore Guide
Last update: 17 October 2016
Paradise Lost is the second mission in ReCore. Below you will find a detailed list and a description of all of its stages.
Getting to Lonely Basin
After the cutscene, your task is to repair your dog's damaged leg. In order to do that, approach the workbench and hold the F key. The game will guide you through the whole process, while at the same time explaining the rather simple system of crafting and upgrades. After finishing all the repairs, leave the base by approaching the panel at the end of the room and holding F.
First, you have to get to another sector: Lonely Basin. The gate to that region are marked with the green quest indicator, and can be found on the base right-hand side. I recommend poking around the area first and looking for resources before leaving.
At the same time, when you arrive at the gate you shouldn't explore the area too much, since there are enemies who cannot be killed on the current level.
After reaching the gate, press F when you are near the panel to get to the next location.
Looking for terraforming Pylon
Lonely Basin isn't much different visually than the previous location, Granite Steps. Go forward, and you will be attacked by three Spider Corebots. There will be a new color variation among them - yellow. It can slow you down with its attacks. After dealing will all three, make your way towards the big pylon seen in the distance.
After reaching the two platforms hanging above the precipice and collecting the resources that lie there, go to the longer platform (the one on the right) and make a double jump with sprint to reach the next platform. When Joule touches it, a short cutscene commences. After watching it, jump onto the other side in exactly the same way.
On your way to the pylon you may be attacked by Corebyte Poppers, flying robots that shoot quick series of lasers. Fortunately, they're not very tough, and they explode after one shot.
A couple meters from there, a fight with a new kind of enemies awaits - with Rouge K-9. They are much more aggressive that previously encountered robots, and fighting them requires a bit more effort. After destroying them you should look around the area. There's a quite a lot interesting items nearby. Remember about destroying the crates - there's many of them in the area.
After your finished looting the place, it's time to move on. The game will lead you through a passage, which has many Creepers on the ceiling.
On the corner of this passage there's a big crate, which can be opened by holding F.
Proceed further down the passage. You will have to do a couple of jumps and defeat one Spider Corebot, but this shouldn't be a problem.
A couple of meters behind this location the weather conditions will change, and control over Joule will be limited.
After walking for a moment, the storm will get more severe and you will have to proceed blindly forward. Joule will not be able to jump and the view will be very limited.
You will get to a closed gate with no power. To open it, it's enough to approach it and hold F. Joule will take out the core which you got from the previous boss, and will power up the gate with it. From now on, every new underground complex will require more and more of these cores (which are obtained from defeating bosses).
