How to unlock crafting in Rage 2? Rage 2 Guide and Walkthrough

This page of our guide to Rage 2 will teach you how to unlock crafting. Thanks to crafting, you will be able to replenish your supplies (to some extent) without looking for items or spending money on merchants.

Rage 2 allows you to craft consumables - it can be, for example, grenades, Wingsticks, infusions or drones. The crafting option is unfortunately locked by default. The solution to this problem is to purchase item schemes from merchants. You can get them from merchants traveling around the world or those staying in towns, e.g. Gunbarrel (you visit it at the beginning of the game).

Merchants can offer schematics for consumables or items that can be used several times. The picture above shows an example of schematics offered by one of the merchants. One scheme can cost from one to several thousand dollars. In the initial stage of the game, choose only the most important ones, e.g. related to the most commonly used items and gadgets.

After purchasing the scheme, open the inventory. Information about available crafting schemes should appear in the lower right corner of the screen. Hold the right button to start crafting an item.

An important limitation related to crafting is that in order to build an item, you must have required crafting materials. The picture above shows the following example - to craft Wingstick, you need 4 mechanical components and 2 electronic components. The best way to get crafting materials is to get them as loot. Search all locations and collect all interactive items. Destroy wooden chests - they can have crafting materials stored inside of them.
