How to reach rooftops in Rage 2? Rage 2 Guide and Walkthrough

On this page of our guide to Rage 2, we will show you how to reach rooftops and high shelves. You can use two methods involving the use of certain skills (Nanotrites).
In addition to the two methods described below, there is also a very obvious method - look for a ladder or an elevator and use them to reach a rooftop or a balcony located above. Use the methods described below only if you do not see any opportunities for conventional climbing.
Method 1 - using Grav-Jump skill
Grav-Jump is one of the unlockable Nanotrite skills. To obtain this ability, you need to visit the Great Crack Ark located in the southern part of the Broken Track region.
Once you get there, eliminate the enemies and get inside the Ark. You will be able to unlock the Grav-Jump ability.
Grav-Jump allows you to double jump. You can press the jump button a second time while you are in the air. This skill has two applications:
- Climbing objects while you are standing still - Press the jump button a second time, even if jumped without making any other movement.
- Long jumps towards distant shelves - Press the jump button for the second time after performing the first jump while sprinting. This will allow you to jump over the abyss.
You can upgrade Grav-Jump by unlocking the second and third levels of this Nanotrite. These upgrades allow you to hold the jump button and increases the distance of your jump. This will allow you to reach platforms that are located even farther.
Method 2 - using the Vortex skill
Vortex is another Nanotrite skill that you can unlock. To obtain this ability you need to visit the Quake Hill Ark located in the eastern part of Twisting Canyons, the starting region.
When you enter the building, you need to go through several corridors. Jump down and move to the Ark's entrance. Open it to acquire Vortex skill.
One of the applications of Vortex is to launch the hero in the air. Use the ability and then go to the place where the purple energy landed. When it explodes, the hero will be launched into the air. You get the best results by sprinting towards the energy sphere at the last moment. Your character will be launched forward. You can use this method when, for example, you want to reach a high floor to which no visible track lead.
