Orchard investment in Pure Farming 2018 Pure Farming 2018 Guide and Walkthrough
Last update: 27 March 2018
Orchards are one of the most efficient types of investment. It also requires little work. They can be found in many countries, where you can enjoy different kinds of crops. Note, however, that some locations will require something more than a sprayer and a tractor.
Note - occasionally some orchards may suffer from a rather common bug (in version 1.1.1) - the plants in the last stage may stop growing (when a white icon is visible above the orchard). Spraying the orchard again is an effective way to force the plants to complete the final stage of growth.
Jobs to be completed
Necessary machines:
- Any tractor, even McCormick 4600 will do,
- A water tank,
- Sprayer Akpil Chwast XL SAD (Other tab in the shop),
- A large transporter (a 16-ton semitrailer, a truck, or even a 25-ton semitrailer).
First, you will need to deliver water to a water container near your orchard (10 000 liter capacity). The most important factor is to keep the water level at 10% or higher. Fortunately, you don't have to refill the water container too often, especially when rain also counts as an irrigation method.
Take your sprayer, refill it at one of your sheds (one refilling should usually last for 2-3 sprays, depending on the size of your orchard and the tractor speed). Now, all you need to do is wait for your fruit to grow. Remember that you can buy fertilizer remotely via your tablet (costs are 20% higher).
You can monitor the progress on your map: first, you will see yellow flowers and then new fruit marked with a white symbol. When the icon turns green, you can collect ripe fruit from a wooden container next to your orchard. You can sell them immediately, or store them in one of the wooden warehouses marked on your map with an apple icon.
You can grow different kinds of fruit. Check the map of the surrounding area to find out which types of orchards are available. Depending on the country you selected, available types of fruit can differ (their cultivation will differ as well).
If you keep the right irrigation level and spray your fruit trees, it will take 3 days for your fruit to grow. If you don't collect them, they will begin to spoil after 24 hours.
Note - if you're lucky and there's enough rain, the orchard may crop even if you didn't fill the water tank. So if you don't like watering things, and you're in no hurry, you may try betting on weather alone.
Types of orchards and exotic orchards
There are many types of crops available from orchards. All of them require you to spray them and fill the water tank regularly. Additionally, there's much less space between bushes than between trees. Try to use a light (McCormick 4600) or medium tractor. Take note than when spraying exotic orchards (olives, coffee, etc.) you spray 4 rows of bushes and not 2 like in the case of trees.?When it comes to exotic crops, those collected with a harvester, the plants are ready to be harvested a day earlier - after just 2 days - when there's a white icon visible above the plants.
Crop size:
Fruit | Crop |
Apple | 19 200 kg |
Pear | 12 800 kg |
Plum | 13 400 kg |
Coffee (Columbia) | Average: 15-20 tons |
Grapes / Olives (Italy) | Average 5-10 tons |
Cherries (Japan) | Average 20-22 tons |
When it comes to pear, orchards number 1 and 2 are an exception. They yield a crop of 25600 and 19200 kg respectively.
When it comes to exotic plants, the orchards differ in crop size, so we've given you an average. The fruits are ready to be harvested when they appear on the bushes - they are red in color. The crop collected by the harvester can't be moved directly onto a trailer. You'll have to take it to the purchasing center or the storehouse, To harvest coffee, you'll need the Skybury harvester, for the grapes and olives the Gregoir G9 (there a two models available: a cheaper one - requiring a tractor, or a more expensive one, which is self-propelled).
