Breeding cows and swine takes a lot of time but hey, no one said that the work of a farmer is easy. Check our tips and guide to Pure Farming 2018 about breeding of bovine animals and swine.

Here's some basic and advanced tips about Pure Farming 2018 pigs and cows. In the case of animals, by default you have cows and pigs to choose from. Cows generate solid and liquid fertilizer, and milk. Adult cows can be sold with a profit. Pigs, like rabbits, are sold for meat when they have enough body weight. It is worth remembering that larger animals can be brought to the slaughterhouse with a semi-trailer in order to get a 20% better purchase price. However, there is a 4 animal space-limit on each trailer, so it is extremally consuming and uneconomical.
Pigs
Suggested equipment:
- None, just a trailer to transport the animal.
At first, purchase of a pig house (EUR 25 000 / capacity 10). It may be improved (40 000 EUR / capacity 20). Each pig costs 65 EUR. Pigs are not producing anything - just like rabbits, they grow up (after 3 days) and are ready to be sold at a multiplied price per unit (EUR 1,000 to the slaughterhouse, EUR 800 for Internet sales).
You have to provide them with food - potatoes or synthetic feed can be bought in bags around the pig house (43 EUR/pcs). You need about 50 sacks of fodder (more than €2,000) to fully develop 10 animals. So synthetic feed is not a particularly optimal solution. To sum up [for 10 pieces]:
- Purchase of pigs - 650 EUR,
- Fodder for 3 days - 2000 EUR,
- Profit for pigs sold by use of tablet - 8000 EUR,
- Profit for pigs sold by use of semi-trailer to the slaughterhouse - 10 000 EUR.
So you get about 5 500 - 5 700 EUR after 3 days for 10 pigs. This is not a very profitable investment. It should be remembered that for each additional day of delay in selling, adult pigs still feed on food even though they will not gain in value. You should therefore take good care of your business or only provide as much food as you need for the growth of piglets.
If you have potatoes, transfer them to a semi-trailer and dump them in the pig house. Approximately 2.5 tones are sufficient for adult pigs. It is therefore almost half times cheaper than synthetic feed.
Cows
Cow husbandry is the most complex structure and process in the game. Cows deliver fertilizer in two forms and also milk. You can sell milk (remotely or using a semi-trailer) and use manure on your own fields or sell it in a biogas plant (where you can't do it remotely). If you fill up the tanks to the maximum, the excess will not be produced and will go to waste. Important - if you are using the help of your employees to fertilize your field with natural manure, it is still being purchased by them and you don't lose the contents of your trailer.
Suggested equipment:
- Solid manure trailer.
- Liquid manure trailer.
- Milk trailer.
Additionally:
- A trailer for the transportation of animals.
- Mower.
- A forage wagon or bale machine.
- Feed mixing machine.
First purchase a barn (EUR 25,000 / capacity 10 pcs.). It can be improved (EUR 50 000 / capacity 45 pcs.). Each bovine animal costs EUR 220. Vegetables produce small amounts of fertilizer; when grown, production increases and milk is added. The value of adult cows changes only slightly.
Adult cows produce solid manure, liquid fertilizer and milk. All they need is food. You can buy ready-made synthetic feed from a bag at the barn (price 10 EUR / pcs.) or make it yourself.
10 adult cows [fed with fodder]:
- They eat less than 10 bags of synthetic feed (young cows use up to several dozen before they grow up).
- More than 2000 kg of solid manure.
- 800l liquid manure.
- 960l of milk.
To feed cows naturally, you must harvest grass, hay and silage (the process is described in the separate chapter "Grass and silage"). Place all the ingredients in the fodder vehicle; eventually you can skip the component / destroy the balance of the components. After all, the fodder vehicle is required to enter the cowshed and unload feed. Perfectly balanced mix of grass, silage and hay increases milk production by 50%; the full hopper of the machine should be loaded with 4 bales of each component.
In the new version of the game hay was replaced by straw. You can collect it after the harvester has been used in the field for grain harvesting. You can only use a semi-trailer that convert straw into bales.
Cow products
Note that only milk can be sold remotely. The trailer is quite expensive, so better forget about it at the beginning of the game. When you get it, simply place it in front of a large blue tank and start overflowing.
You must sell the fertilizer by yourself. Fluid fertilizer can be easily loaded into the manure trailer with a small well in the middle of the complex. In a biogas plant, you pour it in the same place as the solid fertilizer (standing on the ramp).
You need to load the solid fertilizer onto the trailer using a front loader and shovel. You can purchase a dedicated set for medium or large tractors, but JCB tractors are not counted here as large tractors and you cannot connect these loaders to them.
Keep in mind that solid manure is a little more valuable and the trailer and its load are extremely heavy - fertilizing fields is slow. For this reason, it is better to use it for sale and fertilize the fields with liquid manure.
You can sell milk to a dairy. It is the most valuable product of this breeding. The tank is capacious, so you don't have to sell it at a low price. Of course, you can also sell milk remotely (with a loss of 20% profit). If you want to do it yourself, buy a Pro Warm semi-trailer and fill it with fuel next to a big blue tank at the cowshed.
