MultiVersus: Perks system
MultiVersus, in addition to unique characters, also has a system perks, which works like stacking a build. On this page of the guide you will learn how to get the bonuses, set them up and how to best stack them.
Perks are unique passive effects that affect the gameplay. Thanks to them, you can strengthen your damage in specific situations, increase your defense, and even get a unique effect available for a specific skill.
Types of perks
There are four types of perks:
- Red - these are offensive perks, which mainly increase the damage dealt, but also improve dodges etc.
- Blue - these are defensive perks, which result in lower health loss and generally higher survivability during the battle.
- Green - they are from the utility group, they mainly affect the movement, gravity, and even increase damage after reaching a specific goal.
- Gold - these are signature perks, unique to a given character. They usually affect the ability of the hero you play. While you can choose 3 basic perks, you can get only unique perk in a build.
Stacking perks
MultiVersus also encourages you to use the same perks as your ally in 2v2. Perks do stack up. If you check the description of a given bonus, at the top you will find information about the effect. If two people use the same perk, the effect will be doubled or it will simply have a slightly different effect.
The more effects, the more buffs you get for various stats. Therefore, you don't always have to choose the same perk as your ally to strengthen the effect, especially since some of them only work in specific situations, such as dealing 10% more damage to an enemy you have weakened. Some characters, unfortunately, do not have the ability to use a debuff and will only deal increased damage if the ally has debuffs.
The most important thing is to experiment with the build and choose what you use the most. If your tactic is to launch enemies in the air, choosing a perk that affects the damage dealt to enemies launched in the air is a good solution. However, if you are afraid that you have not mastered the mechanics of dodging yet, or that you will be targeted by enemies, it is worth choosing defensive perks that reduce the damage dealt by enemies.
How to unlock?
To unlock all perks, you need to level up the character you are playing. The only way to do that is to use it during matches. Go to the collection and then select the character you want to get the perks for. At the bottom, you will see your level and progress. By earning a certain level, you will get a variety of rewards, not just perks.
